Llamar

Or however the hell you spell its name, Dr Kliners pet Headcrab. In Dr K's lab when gordon gets into the teleporter and that infernal little git-ish thing screws it all up and send Gordon on a merry little visit to Breen's office etc. Well at one part Llamar jumps into the portal and is then thrown out into the middle of teh desert?!

How the hell, 1 week later, did it get back to teh lab? Perhaps part of the expansion for Barney or somthing will be to rescue Llamar? I seriously doubt it is a mistake that Llamar comes back. Did anyone else notice that?

He and Gordon come back to the chamber, and there Lamarr jumps off.

Yep. Lamaar is teleported around like Gordon (I presume, at least), and both end up back at the lab.

I did toy with the idea of an expansion centered around resuing Lamaar too, though. :D

Id personnally like to see Lamaar jump ont to the doctors face and suckle it. It would be hilarious to see him roll around on the floor with a head crab french kissing him

But Llamar doesnt come back, she/it wonders off into teh desert, I didnt see her jump back through teh portal, did you?

I wanna write a fan fic about barney finding Lamarr, how can you love such a disgusting animal so much, it's amazing but she's so cute in the game!

Well it sounds like a good idea for a HL2 mission pack -- HL2: Lamarr.

For god's sake, the H is in the middle of "the," not on the end.

Indeed, but it does appear as if Laamar was still somehow 'anchored' to the teleport anyway. All we know is the Lamaar ends up back at the lab, which means even though she jumped away from Gordon, she was still been teleported around.

Either she was like gordon, and still had a lot of teleport resonance pulling her back and forth between two places, finally ending up somewhere close to Izzy's lab, or Izzy somehow tracked her to the desert, and then teleported her back one he'd fixed the darn thing.

I hope Llamar and Gordon have their DNA spliced, and Gordon develops into a Jeff Goldblum style zombie. Interesting plot twist for HL3.

gordon as half headcrab half stereotypical jew? I'm down

I just realized that Lamarr was introduced in Opposing Force. Near the beginning. Play it through and you'll probably notice a headcrab in a cage, near Dr. Kleiner.

I want to play opposing force so much, but I already bought a copy of Half Life and I can't justify paying 30 bucks for the compilation pack.

that reminds me.
when youre teleporting around, you go underwater and almost get eaten by that shark thing. anyone know where the hell you actually see that again???? can you???? lol just sprang to mind as i always hated the bloody thing in hl1.

Lamar is cool , but how do you tame a headcrab anyway...!?

surely he/she would still have the urge to leech off your head and jab its claws into your torso :/

edit: thats the only time in the game the Itchyosaur appears in HL2, brief, but you can gaurantee HL3 will see you up against them again... erk

Lots of pro-zac doses

How to make a headcrab a pet? To paraphrase the good doctor, remove the teeth. Would it be a great pet, probably not. But, the doc is strange like that. Also, anyone notice the full name of the pet is Hedy Lamarr? Get it, they are Head crabs - hedy........

well if it has some brain function like a dog then it could be trained using classical training methods like pavlov's dog. same way you train any animal. that or maybe he operated on it to make it more dosile i don't know.

That actaully makes sence.

oh yeah. hmm valve HAVE done their research, and the little touches such as that make it a good sequel....however sometimes it never FEELS like half life...but more like some new shooter...

The problem with Kleiner's crab being the one in the cage is that Kleiner supposedly raised Hedy from a larva.

Obviously someone hasn't seen Blazing Saddles with Mel Brooks. I can't be the only one who sees that reference. :p

Hedy Lamarr was an Actress and inventor. Valve must have thought "Heady" and then realised there was an actress called something similar.

Actually, does Lamarr screw up the teleport? The scientists are all blabbering about interference, something from "outside" at the time? Was Mossman sabotaging the teleport, or did the Combine know already? (I suppose it could even have been the G-Man, that old dog ^^)

I think it was the guys at Eli's complaining about interference, wasn't it? As in not getting a clear signal from Kleiner's teleport, because Hedy knocked part of it loose (I'd swear that big beam thing up above was wobbling all over the joint).

And in the lamar expansion pack, lamar will be the playable character of course, u embark on a mystical journey to find your way back to your master...

You guys certainly came up with very many ways to write "Lamarr" wrong.

llama.

1. Lamarr didn't get teleported back! He trekked over miles and miles of trackless wasteland in an act of devotion to try and get back to his beloved master. Just like in Homeward Bound!

Make a good mod or comedy machinima. Barney the animal-hater is sent to rescue Lamarr...

As for the teleport...well, I remember someone saying there seems to be something drawing you away...hmm.

Lammar was probably one of the best characters in the game it would be cool to see her in HL3

someone needs to make a fanclub sig.
"Lamar, the lovable, sterilized headcrab fanclub"

Lamarr inspired machinima would be hilarious if done right.
