Her expression at the end there is just SO lifelike! It's almost scary!

That was a cool scene-the characters looked so amazingly real. Just like what someone said earlier, Alyx's embarassed expression was awesome. I actually felt embarassed for her..wow...God please give us this game (and if you dnt mind..a nice shiny new vid card)

That scene with Alyx and Eli was good for me on several levels:
1) It showed a good, playful father/daughter relationship. These two have been around with each other for awhile.
2) As always, the expressions and facial animation is AWESOME. I'm gonna have a hard time looking at any other game's real-time facials after HL2. Hell, already having a hard time with some games, like Far Cry.
3) Great voice acting. It's extremely believable, and even the non-facial animation is still pretty darn good.

Well, The Vortigaunts were called Alien "Slaves". What I think is after Gordon killed Nihilanth, their master, they were free and decided to ally with the humans. I don't think they ever really wanted to kill you in Half-Life, they were just forced too. I remember reading somewhere that those green ring things they wore around their necks wre kind of like a shock collar. If they disobeyed, they would be he hurt or maybe killed. Also, about them being able to speak english. Half Life 2 takes place like 10-15 years after Half Life, right? So, If the Vortigaunts have been around on Earth for that length of time, they probably were able to pick up the english language after a while.
