Load times LONGER after "fix"?

My load times seem to be longer now, despite the patch being released. Anyone else having this problem?

Also, I heard about the possibility of unpacking the HL2 files (VAC or something like that) to the harddrive to improve loadtimes, fix the sound stuttering, etc. The only problem is, I can't find the tool that extracts the files!

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

it will take like 30 sec to load on any system but defragging your harddrive can speed it up alittle
