My logitech elite/SE keyboard (not wireless) are a bit annoying. When I start or reboot the computer the F-lock
automatically goes off and I have to press it every time I start the computer, if I want the Fkeys to work, wich are annoying. Ive gotten pretty acustom to it in the last year, but it still bugs me a bit, not as much as the first few months though.

Logitech does not have a fix but perhaps someone of u guys have heard something or know of a workaround??

Other than this Im very happy with my keyboard, very nice design etc. I even spilled water on it and it worked again after a few days.

Yeah, I have the same problem, I too would like to know if there's a workaround

The closest work around is to set all the F keys under the iTouch control panel to "Transparent Pass-Through," unfortunately this won't allow commands such as alt f4 to work without hitting the f-lock key.. but, it's better than nothing :)

Yeah and then u might as well just not install the crappy logitech software/drivers

Ohhh man I hate that default F-Lock setting, but I hate the Logitech drivers even more. They are incredibly intrusive and use way too much system resources. I might have to pick up a new keyboard.

I wouldn't have the drivers installed, but, I use the media controls (play, pause, stop, volume, etc). Other than those, keyboards with a million quick launch keys are a complete gimmick IMO

I haven't got the drivers installed yet still i have to press the F-Lock key every time is start my computer :/

Also the same problem here.

I especially hate it when Flock is off, and im plying BF42. Then I use the voice commands and get booted to my computer.

maybe windows problem?

wont recognize it during its boot up?

Right. It's a custom thing on these new "generation" of keyboards.. most useless feature IMO

Anyhow, I too hate it when I'm in a game and I think F-Lock is on, so I hit say F1, and it minimizes the game and I die =/

my keyboard is fine, i use intelitype internet pro (discontinued) its usb connected, im fine, but for some reason my cusons dont work eiather, his f keys dont work, an dit was built buy a pro,i guess hes having same problem as u guys. i guess ignorance is bliss lol.

yeah, GREAT keyboard... except that... can u physically do something to the board, that when power to keyboard is turn on, it will be on?
my thinkings says yes... but that require expert(s) from logitech to tell u...

It's not a Windows problem. Windows recognizes the it as a standard 104-key USB keyboard, which means there is actually a chip within the board that, when the F-Lock is off, takes the input of the F-Key you press and converts it into a combination of keystrokes and sends that through to the motherboard. So Windows actually thinks you're pressing key combination when you're only pressing the one key.

I gonna actually open up my keyboard and see what I can do about it. I'm an electrical engineering major, so if I figure anything out, I'll be sure to post it. It may be as simple as glueing down the F-Lock key.

wow cool iamironsam, maybe u can write us some cool software in the meantime? ;o))

sweet, id love to see that.. u should so make a guide on how to fix it (with pictures ^.^ for the textly challenged) if u can...
because im sure alot of people of this same issue, with keyboard.
some major hardware site would definately host it, if u did.

An electrical engineer and a programmer are two very different things :)

Arent a electrical engineer allowed to program in his freetime? Anyways I WAS joking.. Unless he makes a fix... then I was dead serious :) :)

I agree, I sell computers and I know alot of ppl who would love a fix and I think even logitech would be abliged. I hate them for not making a fix they know people doesnt like it!

I actually spent the first 3 years of college in the Computer Technology major where I learned VB, C++, and Java. I also learned to hate VB, C++, and Java, so I switched majors to EE.

I already talked to Logitech. They told me to install the drivers and there is an option that enables F-Lock in Windows startup. But like I said, those drivers are aweful. A more experienced programmer might be able to make a software fix, but I was just gonna try the quick and dirty hardware fix. I'm at work right now, but I'll let you guys know if I make any progress.

i have the drivers installed... and i see no auto on setting :dozey:
