I got my computer back from repair now, after a few weeks of waiting.. The gfx card has been broken for about a month, a Geforce 4 Ti4200 with AGP 8X, and the first thing I did when the comp was back in the house was to plug it in and rejoice the feeling of a normal comp again..

When I checked the 'advanced' desktop settings I got a heart attack; Instead of the good ol' Geforce 4 Ti' it stood 'Geforce FX5600' !!!

It's really cool, I have never been able to put the AA or the AF settings on 8X .. And I tried out Max Payne 2 with all settings on highest; another heartattack! It is soo F***KING SMOOTH! It's like a dream, the DX9 shaders stuff is there , the character lightning, mirrors and such.. And it doesn't "lag" when you're in smoke!!!!!

The thing is, I was supposed to get a functioning Geforce 4 back, but there's no ****ing way I'm going to send the comp back to Denmark (I live in sweden and the computer manufacturer is in Denmark) to replace it..

I feel so glaad!!! Gotta try out more cool gamez0rsss!!

 I'd buy all of you guys a beer if you were right here..

Yeah, but at least it's better than a Geforce 4 ti4200, and that's good enough for me :)

I don't know much about GFX cards, could anyone tell me abit more about it? Like how good it is, and how good it is compared to the Radeon cards?

Where the hell did you get that "fixed"? What store, what town etc.

At first when I saw this thread, I though 'yeah...hilarious.' But actrually, you have good reason to be over the moon. You git. :E

Lol, if you had gone in with a Radeon they probably would have gotten you a 9800xt :p

I'm pretty sure my Ti4200 @ 300 MHz (Ti4600 speeds) outperforms a 5600 Ultra (on DX8 mode that is). But is it an Ultra or just a regular 5600?

It's not weird that you got a different card, pretty normal really. Ti4200's are hardly sold or made anymore. So anyone who get's his Ti4xxx fixed has a big chance of getting a FX5xxx.

LOL

I left the comp about two weeks ago at the store I bought it from (no fancy franchise stuff) , and they sent it to the dane manufacturer.. I checked if they got the computer back , and they had so I took it back home.

The problem was just the graphics card that was dead, I have no f**king idea why the guys over in denmark put another kind of gfx card in.. Guess the dudes who did it either don't care or know much about comps and GFX cards..

The thing is, this stuff never happens to me usually. I'm the kind of guy that always complains "everyone else wins on betting, everyone else gets some good shit in accidently , this stuff will never happen to me" ..

LOL........id take a ti4200 over any FX card...

..FX5700 ultra is better than a Ti4200! And, the 5950Ultra is better too. Other than that, I agree.

Personally I think the GF4 Ti4200 is a pretty good card. I've never had any slowdown an any games i've tried. Plus it overclocks pretty well. Still think you're lucky though. :)

Yah, the FX5900 isn't a huuuge change, a little better though, I get some nifty DX9 stuff.. :D

But other than that, the Ti4200 is a great card, I had it for a long time before this incident and it's a trusty ol' companion ;) , I never had any probs with it.

So, you replaced your old crap with new crap?
Poor, poor Harij.

Ati all teh w4yz0rz!

The Ti4200 and FX5600 are roughly in the same price range, so it's not like hitting a goldmine or something. But if you're happy with it, then that's cool.

Yeah , that's kind of my view on the thing. It's not like a huuuge change , but I notice some changes to the better in some games.
