LOL.. Kirsten Dunst lets slip spider man info on TOTP

I think that everyone agrees that Harry Osborne will be Spider-Man's enemy in the next film. Here are the two most likely co-villians:

The Lizard-- (Dr. Conners) seems a likely canidate for the next villian.

Venom-- could also be a villian (in the cartoons he was brought back from space in a rock by John Jameson and then fused with someone else to become Venom) but it seems unlikely if there is also going to be the Green Goblin 2. Venom would steal the show.

Little history lesson.

Harry Osborn made is first appearance as the Green Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man #136

Roderick Kingsley made his first appearnce as the Hobgoblin in Amazing Spider-Man #238

Theres only one green goblin and one hobgoblin. Norman Osbourne was the orignal green goblin. Harry soon takes his place. Hob goblin is a total different character and is a wimp compared to green goblin. Im pretty sure GreenGoblin/Harry Osbourne is gonna be one of the villans. I doube it would be venom. Mostly likely the lizard.

I don't read spiderman comics i don't know the history or story of it.

But i've seen pictures of Venom and he looks like one of the coolest characters ever. Would it really be that bad if he was included in spiderman 3?

There will be no second goblin!!!!

They only reason they had Harry discover the lab at the end was to drive him crazy, that his dad was evil.

The list of probable candidates:

Lizard
Mysterio
Scorpion
Vulture
Chamelion
Electro

Venom needs a movie of his own because his character is so dangerous and complex. It's the only way we'll ever see Carnage too.

If they're planning on following the comics like they are for the most part, Harry probably will be TGG in the next movie..

That and Lizard. Since we saw Doc Connors in SM2

any hardcore Spider Man fan will tell u that Venom needs a SM sequel of his own.. it won't do Venom, or Carnage for that matter the justice that these two characters need by having either of them with another villain.. plus as soon as u have 2 villains in the movie.. u automatically limit their character development.. unless of course its gonna be a 4-5 hour movie.. and we know that doesn't happen too often.

but knowing hollywood they will end up screwing that somehow.. i mean look at the these two SM movies.. no Eddie Brock, no Felicia Hardy.. these characters are important in the comics yet theres not even a mention of them in the movies.

I think shocker (http://www.capcom.co.jp/spider-man/chara_img/shocker.jpg) would be easiest for them to put in. Easy special FX(shoots electric shit from fists) plus he doesnt need a lot of story.

Shocker would be great to have as a minion, but other than that the only other part I could see him in (and Rhino for that matter) would be to rob something in the opening scene and then have Spider-Man deal with him.

lol, i just realised while lying in bed this morninbg that peter's teacher was doc conner. i know that shuzer allready mentioned it, im just a little slow :p

for some reason i saw no connection with the fact he had no arm and doc conner lol...

anyway, its almost definately gonna be the lizard next, as venom is probally too hard to do and the lizards character has allready been revealed.

now all we have to do is wait for 2 years :p

Don't you guys know? Spiderman 3 is spiderman vs batman!

Okay, to sort out the Green Goblin/Hobgoblin stuff (Comic info):

Green Goblins:

Green Goblin: Norman Osborn, physically and mentally enhanced (and driven mad) by a laboratory explosion caused by his son's tampering with an experimental formula for a performance-enhancer.

Green Goblin 2: Harold Osborn, after having witnessed Spider-Man's "final" fight with his father, the original Goblin, and under the influence of a drug addiction, hid the costume from the authorities. Learned Spider-Man's secret identity from his father's notes. Harry was apparently neither physically nor mentally enhanced, merely deranged. Eventually he was cured, though he later descended into madness and the persona of the Green Goblin once more, this time also utilising a copy of his father's performance enhancer. After attempting to a) take away everything and everyone dear to Peter Parker and b) blow Spider-Man up by leaving him drugged in a building that would shortly be blown up by a bomb, Harry Osborn realised that Mary Jane and his own son were still trapped inside the building. After rescuing them, Harry came to his senses and realised that he could not leave his old friend Peter to die in such a manner. After rescuing Spider-Man in the nick of time, Harry suddenly began to convulse. Fatally poisoned by the performance-enhancing formula he had taken, the last thing Harry Osbourne ever did was make peace with himself, Spider-man, and Peter Parker.

Green Goblin 3: Dr. Barton Hamilton, who cured Harry, then used information from Harry's memories of the Green Goblin to locate the Green Goblin's hideout. Unenhanced, he was eventually killed by a bomb he planted to kill Spider-Man.

Green Goblin 4: Phil Urich, nephew of the reporter Ben Urich. Found Harry's hideout. Not too special.

Green Goblin's Return: The substance that gave Norman Osbourne superhuman strength and intelligence (and drove him insane), also came with a "healing factor", which allowed him to regenerate from the apparently fatal stabbing by his own glider. Having awoken within and escaped from the city morgue, he moved to Europe (in order to give his son a chance to prove himself), and became the leader of the Brotherhood of Scrier. Returned to complete an incredibly complex plan of revenge against Spider-Man, after having used his Scrier agents to torment him for years. Eventually defeated by Spider-Man and his clone, Ben Reilly, though Ben died in the process.

Hobgoblins:

The Hobgoblin: George Hill, a bank robber who escaped from Spider Man via the sewers, stumbled upon one of the original Green Goblin's secret hideouts. He contacted an unnamed associate, who quickly murdered George and looted the lair. The unknown man realised what a great opportunity for personal advancement he had found, altered one of the Green Goblin's costumes, and became the Hobgoblin. Improving upon the Green Goblin's performance-enhancing formula (And this time testing it for side effects - the Hobgoblin was no fool), the Hobgoblin gave himself super-strength far in excess of that of the original Goblin. The Hobgoblin also upgraded the abilities of most of the Goblin equipment.

Hobgoblin 2 (Maybe): Ned Leeds, one of Peter Parker's fellow reporters, was killed by terrorists while on an overseas assignment. Found in a Hobgoblin costume, and surrounded by evidence, Ned Leeds seemed to have been the Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin 3: Jason Macendale, alias "Jack O' Lantern", a costumed mercenary, masterminded Ned's death, then assumed the role of the Hobgoblin.

HobGoblin 4: Roderick Kingsley, who claimed both to be the man who had been contacted by George Hill and taken to Osborn's hidden lair, and to be the original Hobgoblin, killed Jason Macendale. Spidey is not completely convinced by the man's claims.

Venom is an exelent choice for a villan role in SpiderMan 3

I don't think they're gonna put venom in this one. They'll probably put him in one of the later movies.

Venom is the best Spiderman villian ever. In my opinion. Carnage is up there too just because of his shear brutality.

Yeah. Heck, I reckon Spider-Man would make a good soap-opera. One gripe I had about the costumes in the movie, though, was that the Goblin helmet was lifeless, not like the flexible masks in the comic. I always pictured the Goblin in my head as having a higher-pitched voice, too...

You guys do know that Spider-Man 3&4 are slated to be made at the same time.

So what they may do is have the son of the Green Goblin be the main villian for a majority of the movie, and then introduce Venom near the end or something which would easily set up for 4.

Bam, right there. It just makes sense if they do go through with their plan of two movies at once.

I still think King Pin would be the best, King Pin running his crime syndicate with Rhino, Scorpion, etc underneath him and taking orders from him.

But Dr Connors and Green Goblin would be the first choices.

Spidermans stars are only slated for a 3rd movie as thats all they have signed up for...
