Why does that look like..
1.) Random letters.
2.) Random letters looped.
3.) Some phrase without spaces looped?

perhaps... antidisestablishmentarianism?

its 28 letters long. I'm not sure if its a real word or not, its just a long "word" i've always known

If you look closely it's the chemical make up of tryptophan. The explenation for repeated words is that there are repeated chemical patterns in tryptophan.

PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCOPICSILICOVOLCANOCONIOSIS (45 letters; a lung disease caused by breathing in certain particles) is the longest word in any English-language dictionary. (It is also spelled -koniosis.)

One is a 3,641-letter chemical name describing bovine NADP-specific glutamate dehydrogenase, which contains 500 amino acids. Jeff Grant of Hastings, New Zealand, provided the word to Ross Eckler, editor of Word Ways. Two parts of the word, "glutamylasparginyl" and "glutaminyl," may not be accurate because of uncertainties in the chemical structure. One proposed resolution of the uncertainties would shorten the word to 3,639 letters. [Charles Turner]

The other, which appears below, is supposed to be a 1,913-letter chemical name for the tryptophan synthetase A protein:

methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamylserylleucylphenylalanylalanylglutaminyll eucyllysylglutamylarginyllysylglutamylglycylalanylphenylalanylvalylprolylphenylal anylvalylthreonylleucylglycylaspartylprolylglycylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylseryl leucyllysylisoleucylaspartylthreonylleucylisoleucylglutamylalanylglycylalanylaspa rtylalanylleucylglutamylleucylglycylisoleucylprolylphenylalanylserylaspartylproly lleucylalanylaspartylglycylprolylthreonylisoleucylglutaminylasparaginylalanylthre onylleucylarginylalanylphenylalanylalanylalanylglycylvalylthreonylprolylalanylglu taminylcysteinylphenylalanylglutamylmethionylleucylalanylleucylisoleucylarginylgl utaminyllysylhistidylprolylthreonylisoleucylprolylisoleucylglycylleucylleucylmeth ionyltyrosylalanylasparaginylleucylvalylphenylalanylasparaginyllysylglycylisoleuc ylaspartylglutamylphenylalanyltyrosylalanylglutaminylcysteinylglutamyllysylvalylg lycylvalylaspartylserylvalylleucylvalylalanylaspartylvalylprolylvalylglutaminylgl utamylserylalanylprolylphenylalanylarginylglutaminylalanylalanylleucylarginylhist idylasparaginylvalylalanylprolylisoleucylphenylalanylisoleucylcysteinylprolylprol ylaspartylalanylaspartylaspartylaspartylleucylleucylarginylglutaminylisoleucylala nylseryltyrosylglycylarginylglycyltyrosylthreonyltyrosylleucylleucylserylarginyla lanylglycylvalylthreonylglycylalanylglutamylasparaginylarginylalanylalanylleucylp rolylleucylasparaginylhistidylleucylvalylalanyllysylleucyllysylglutamyltyrosylasp araginylalanylalanylprolylprolylleucylglutaminylglycylphenylalanylglycylisoleucyl serylalanylprolylaspartylglutaminylvalyllysylalanylalanylisoleucylaspartylalanylg lycylalanylalanylglycylalanylisoleucylserylglycylserylalanylisoleucylvalyllysylis oleucylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylhistidylasparaginylisoleucylglutamylprolylgluta myllysylmethionylleucylalanylalanylleucyllysylvalylphenylalanylvalylglutaminylpro

Fredrik Viklund writes, "Chemical terms should not in my opinion be listed as long words. Many, many compounds are so complex that their names would be horrific and probably beat the ones listed in all known sources. It is exceedingly hard to reconstruct the correct structure from the name, and many attempts are made to automate the process from structure to name and vice versa. Some systems are successful and commonly used in database searching. The long words starting with ACETYL-SERYL-TYROSYL-SERYL- methionyl-glutaminyl-arginyl-tyrosyl-glutamyl- are spelled-out versions of the amino acid sequence of proteins. To have the longest word, it would only require finding a larger protein, and as proteins are discovered at a rate of hundreds to thousands per week it wouldn't be sporty to accept those names as 'words.' Similar spelling-out for DNA sequences would yield even longer words as the DNA is continous for up to several hundred million bases where each base would be named something like 'uracilphosphate.'"

According to The Top 10 of Everything, 2000, the tryptophan synthetase A protein is "an enzyme consisting of 267 amino acids" and the 1913-letter name "has actually appeared in print in various publications" (Stuart Kidd)

6,8-DIDEOXY-6-(1-METHYL-4-PROPYL-2-PYRROLIDINECARBOXAMIDO)-1-THIO-D-ERYTHRO-D-GALACTO-OCTAPYRANOSIDE (100 characters including punctuation) is found in the OED2, although not as a vocabulary entry. Instead it appears in a citation for the word lincomycin [Stuart Kidd].

DIISOBUTYLPHENOXYETHOXYETHYLDIMETHYLBENZYLAMMONIUMCHLORIDE has appeared in the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association. It is the chemical name of a drug they announced in the 1950s [John Carroll].

I know it's been said but:

the longest word in the first OED was 29-letter floccinaucinihilipilification (the categorizing of something as worthless or trivial). The longest in the OED2, usually cited as the longest word in any English dictionary, is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (a miners' lung disease caused by inhaling silica), 45 letters. Some scholars, however, deride this word as "made up," and declare '"floccinau...'" to be the champ. And, of course, there are some hippopotomonstrosesquipidelian (30 letters, means "long") words in specialized fields, especially chemistry, where they apparently just tack on another few letters every time they rewrite the textbooks. The full name of the tryptophan synthetase A protein, an enzyme with 267 amino acids, extends to 1,913 letters:

methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamylserylleucylphenylalanyla lanylglutaminylleucyllysylglutamylarginyllysylglutamylglycylalany lphenylalanylvalylprolylphenylalanylvalylthreonylleucylglycylaspa rtylprolylglycylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylserylleucyllysylisoleu cylaspartylthreonylleucylisoleucylglutamylalanylglycylalanylaspar tylalanylleucylglutamylleucylglycylisoleucylprolylphenylalanylser ylaspartylprolylleucylalanylaspartylglycylprolylthreonyliso leucylglutaminylaspfraginylalanylthreonylleucylarginylalanylpheny lalanylalanylalanylglycylvalylthreonylprolylalanylglutaminylcyste inylphenylalanylglutamylmethionylleucylalanylleucylisoleucylargin ylglutaminyllysylhistidylprolylthreonylisoleucylprolylisoleucylgl ycylleucylleucylmethionyltyrosylalanylasparaginylleucylvalylpheny lalanylasparaginyllysylglycylisoleucylaspartylglutamylphenylalany ltyrosylalanylglutaminylcysteinylglutamyllysylvalylglycylva lylaspartylserylvalylleucylvalylalanylaspartylvalylprolylvalylglu taminylglutamylserylalanylprolylphenylalanylarginylglutaminylalan ylalanylleucylarginylhistidylasparaginylvalylalanylprolylisoleucy lphenylalanylisoleucylcysteinylprolylprolylaspartylalanylaspartyl aspartylaspartylleucylleucylarginylglutaminylisoleucylalanylseryl tyrosylglycylarginylglycyltyrosylthreonyltyrosylleucylleucylseryl arginylalanylglycylvalylthreonylglycylalanylglutamylasparag inylarginylalanylalanylleucylprolylleucylasparaginylhistidylleucy lvalylalanyllysylleucyllysylglutamyltyrosylasparaginylalanylalany lprolylprolylleucylglutaminylglycylphenylalanylglycylisoleucylser ylalanylprolylaspartylglutaminylvalyllysylalanylalanylisoleucylas partylalanylglycylalanylalanylglycylalanylisoleucylserylglycylser ylalanylisoleucylvalyllysylisoleucylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylhi stidylasparaginylisoleucylglutamylprolylglutamyllysylmethio nylleucylalanylalanylleucyllysylvalylphenylalanylvalylglutaminylp rolylmethion yllysylalanylalanylthreonylarginylserine.

I've heard that antidisestablishmentarianism is the longest word in the english language, but who knows.

What the word for a word with very few letters? Knowing English it's probably 20 letters long.

Antidisestablishmentarianism IS a real word, and I know this because I've done some research on it. ...Because I have no life. Moving on.

(This is all typed and thought up by me, so the info may be not TOTALLY correct.)

The word itself is just a bunch of double negitives.
"Antidis" means against the destruction of... "establishment" "tarianism" <--- and I don't know what the hell that means. So. It's real and comes from England and became a word when they wanted to do something with a church.

opposition to the belief that there should not be an official relationship between a country's government and its national church

Which is weird because the word could have been:

"IbelieveImrighteveryoneelsestfuthx" which is still 35 letters so that wouldn't accomplish anything.

;(

When you add arianism to a word it means thats a persons belief, like... uhh,, vegetarianism, OR anti-disestablishmentarianism

Ok, I think weve figured out the longest word, but I thought of something else, I didn't want to make another thread about it, it's just a waste of space. so here it goes, Is there a word that has NO Vowels (a, e, i, o, u, Sometimes y)?

Oh, I just Thought Of One, Rhythm, Or is it spelled Rhythem?

Dog-- said:

It's 'rhythm'. But that uses a vowel, 'y'.

'tsk tsk', as I've heard, is the longest word without the use of any vowels.

floccinoccinihilipilification is the longest word in the english language that does not have somethin to do with science, and is not a name for anything. It means "to think light of"....the word nihilist is a derivative of this. 29 letters.
