Anyone seen the new leak yet....its the developer preview so it's been configured for developers to develop new drivers, not for end-users to drool over the 3d UI which is disabled by default

Yes, it has been leaked. But i don't think i wanna run it because hardly and programs or drivers will work.

I dont want to run it, is there any advantages of using it? I dont need any more problems then I already have with Windows XP :(

What problems do you have with XP? Curious.

Hey, can someone either post links or direct pics of the new Longhorn Build in 3D UI mode (or of ANY Longhorn Build in 3D UI mode, for that matter). I've looked all over and I can only find screenshots of the 2D UI. Microsoft censorship, perhaps?

<sigh> oh well, such is life. At least life with Microsoft. GO LINUX! :cheers:

I'd be intrested in screenshots of it, but I don't think that they would conform to the rules here.

Pfft XP is the most stable OS i've ever used. If a program crashes, it's the program's fault, not the OS.

You've got to be kidding right?

LOL Xp stable now thats not true is it????

Some stable facts on this new build:

MSDN subscribers will get their hands on longhorn build 5048 for download soon...(is there anything those bastards aren't getting right now)

The sidebar is gone (for now) as it is causing too many problems, may not come back if demand for it is low.

The 3d GUI is disabled by default to allow low-end users to feel the benefit of longhorn , although a simple registry key can be downloaded to enable it.

Cool so they changed the appearance of the recycle bin! That is a nice evolution.

WinXP is infact extremley stable. I can't remember the last time I crashed, I mean it crashes just about never.

Now about that slow part...get a decent computer(With at least 256megs of ram)... WinXP isn't slow at all for me. I click on something it comes up. It isn't "Slow" for me.

if windows xp crashes on you, you either have faulty hardware or you simply need to learn how to use a computer

Its fast, but it just doesnt have the simplicity and quickness i see with Windows 98 and so. I know its probably my hardware thats causing crashes but I've just been having problems with Xp lately.

My system specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton
A7N8X-X
512 mb Kingston HyperX+2x256mb Elixer RAM
450 Watt brand new Enermax Noistaker
40Gb 7200RPM

I just reformatted so its all better because my computer was overloaded with "crap"

$Crap = Spyware/Adware
If(!($Crap = $Good)
{
Echo("The world seems to be spinning right");
}
else
{
AHHHHHHH!!!! HELL!!
}
