why not go to a public school for free...
+1

I honestly believe public school is a great experiance for everyone. At least give it a try for a semester and see how you like it.

Public schools owned.

College is of course better, but I had a great time in the public schools. :)

I never understood why people would want to send thier children to a private school. It deprives them of valuable social interaction and exposure to other people from different backgrounds. And then of course there's the whole "education" part of it.

meh, private school has it's perks ...how many public schools offer latin? how many offer courses in literature? I went to a private school and I can attest that the education was far more advanced than the public system (I was an art teacher in the public system)

Private school does have its upside, but do you really need to be learning Latin in high school? The public school education is just fine in my opinion, collage is for advanced classes. Besides, most schools have good enrichment classes and many other possibilities of taking your education to a 'higher level' including the option of going to out side schools for part of the day and still getting credit. I personally think that a teen being raised in a private school atmosphere isn't very healthy.

Public school is free...

If you don't want public, I know a good school for $5,000 ($ canadian).

So is.......

A crusty old Burger, but wouldn't you rather have a nice new one?

(Not dissing public school, well actually I am but..)

:p

Canada has been "created" by the English. You are now insulting your country as well.

Mine....

so your school was a prepatory for university? did they offer 1st year (university equvilant) physics and calculus? Did they have school trips to paris to see the louvre? (I couldnt afford it) We didnt have wood shop or auto mechanics ...the school was purely academic ...now the tuition is $9000/yr, considerably higher than when I was a student

1. Yes, in a way it is. We have AP/Honors/ and regular classes.
2. Yes, on both. We also offer AP Chem, Lit, Euro History, American History, and the opportunity to AP almost any other course in an IP.
3. The school is too large to organize a trip like that. 2000 kids.
4. Yes we offer Voc. classes in Auto, woodworking, electronics, and computer repair. It isnt fair to discriminate on the kids who dont want to go into these career fields.

yes well having $9000 didnt get you into my highschool, you needed excellent grades throughtout elementary school, a written entrance exam and a recomendation from either your school or a former student. We also only offered advanced courses which is why we didnt have vocational courses

that said: I hated my highschool when I was there ..I only look fondly on it now

i agree with u on that.
not only that, but i was in a public school system and i think the public school system has slowly deteriorated over the last 12 years or so.. at least in Ontario they have.. can't say anything about public high schools in the other provinces/territories.

if u can.. i'd go with what Stern has suggested.

Where at in Canada did you want to move?

I really don't care that schools are private or public, is just that I need a place to stay = boarding school, most of those are private.

I would move anywhere in Canada, as long as I get out of Mexico.
