Looking for some good sci fi films

watch lawnmower man returns 3

I saw it on TV, it was so ****ing bad, i laughed my ass off

Ohhhh, if we're including films "so bad that they're morbidly fascinating"... Battlefield Earth wins.

Battlefield Earth has good ideas but gets let down.

Are any of the Star Trek movies any good?

Good ideas? WHAT good ideas?

Sloth, watch the second one. Wrath of Khan is really the best. Try three and four and then six, but avoid the rest like the plague.

Try Titan AE. It's quite a fun animated scifi movie. It opens with Earth being destroyed in the first five minutes, so yeah, it's cool.

Also try Demolition Man. It's about a really dull-ass future where everybody (for example) has to put money in the swear jar if they curse. Officially. Fun, well thought out action movie.

Ooh, and The One. It's about parallel universes. It has Jet Li fighting Jet Li.

Battlestar Galatica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am legend!!!

Watched about half of equilibrium today before my house caught on fire (no joke).

It was pretty good, though a bit unoriginal. The set pieces and costumes are fairly stupid, "Hey, I have an idea, lets put all of the bad guys in motorcycle helmets and rip-offs of the Matrix costumes!"

But the plot itself seems fairly well thought out, even though it is a severe ripoff of Farenheit 451, 1984, and the Matrix. I will reserve judgment until I'm able to watch the rest.

Waterworld!!

Oohh ohh! Anyone know of any other cool post-apoc films? I am legend got me wanting more.

Seen I am legend, Mad Max, Battlefield Earth, Postman and Waterworld. What other cool ones exist?

I quite enjoyed Independence Day :p

Riddick is lots of fun if you like pop-corn movies. Go watch it.

I like Independence Day too. In a Flash Gordon way, instead of a Blade Runner way. That is, its stupid but fun stupid.

At least if you ignore the irritating Americanitis. I didn't mind it too much at eight, but now?

Well y'know, sometimes you are in the mood for some braindead americans blowing the crap out of cheesy aliens. And on that point, Independece day truly delivers.

But for those other 364 days of the year, it's dung-shit of the worst kind.
And no, there is no good reason to like the matrix sequels.

Oh, yeah, A Scanner Darkly is an okay movie for a rental. I own it, sadly, and the style is fine, but otherwise it's pretty dull.

Does anyone know when the new Star Trek Movie comes out? its got Simon Pegg in it as Scotty which is a bit stupid as he's english

I've noticed that sci-fi films are really a world apart from sci-fi literature...

Where the pinnacle of sci-fi literature is stuff like Hyperion, Neuromancer and Ender's Game, the big screen gets The Matrix and Star Wars...

You, uh, having problems grasping the concept of acting?
