Looking for some good sci fi films

It was essentially a giant parody of fascism and 50's bug movies, not a character piece.

You probably didn't like Transformers either.

Of course the story was filled with cliches, it was a bloody satire...

You know what's an awesome sci-fi film that nobody's mentioned? Masters of the Universe. The live action one, not Secret of the Sword.

I'm watching it right now. I love this movie. Frank Langella is perhaps the best villain ever. I think acting's just a side job for him; he's actually a villain in real life and they hired him to give an accurate performance of his daily life.

"You...will...KNEEL! KNEEL!"

March 11, 2007 The Stargate The Ark of Truth Movie, comes out!! you might want to watch seasons 9, and 10 of the series first so you get all caught up.. Then in June Stargate continum, comes out!

Is that the one with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man?

That's the one!

Frank Langella's awesome acting is counter-balanced by Lundgren's terrible delivery and thick accent. I've never heard a human being mangle words so bad since Stallone uttered, "I am the lurgh!"

"When the Great Eye opens, the people of Eternia will see you kneel to me. Just before you die."

"AH'LL NEVER KNEEL TO YOO!"

It's entertaining and hilarious at the same time.

If you want a sci-fi movie with lots of originality and not really any action as such (ie planets exploding) then watch The Man From Earth its brilliantly written and acted and soooo original.

Courtney cox was pretty hot in that movie I must say, darkside. :D

1) Metropolis

2) The Fountain

that's all I can think of now assuming rest are already mention.

there was a lawnmower man 3?!?!

Mhm, Jobe's War if I remember right.

EVENT HORIZON, Cube(the other two weren't nearly as good), Watch the 28___ Later series again.
Someone suggested Sphere but don't watch it, read it. The movie is nothing compared to the lit.
Uuuuhm, I'll come up with more later =D
Oh, yeah, A Scanner Darkly is an okay movie for a rental. I own it, sadly, and the style is fine, but otherwise it's pretty dull.
Dull? It's meant to be a metaphor on how thinks *work* in today's world. Therefore, it's a thinker.
Definitely watch A Scanner Darkly, it's an amazing piece of cinema.

Definitely watch A Scanner Darkly, it's an amazing piece of cimena.

A metaphor for how things work in today's world? So essentially corporations are hypocritically maintaining the status quo for profit while maintaining a public image of being against the very status quo it profits from. Subtle. Still not very good.

Blade Runner did it way better. It was way more interesting to watch too. I'm not sure why they bothered with the rotoscoping anyway. It worked in the opening to show how drug-addled people saw the world in a surreal manner, but later on it just fell flat.

I'm not a fan of Blade Runner.

Bob didn't get detoxed after the opening. The film was shown through his eyes, in a third person perspective, with the exception of the ending.
