As a beginner I wouldn't go splashing out big bucks on something like a Gibson Les Paul, unless of course you're rich enough to do so...
Fender guitars are good to start with, they are simple, good looking and have a variety of models and sounds, suiting whichever kind of music your looking at playing. They are also relatively cheap, so you can afford to buy a beefy amp to go with it...
Same as the others, that's a bit like suggesting a new driver buy a Porsche. My first guitar was a Fender Strat copy, by a company called Encore (bad reputation apparently). Strat copies are relatively cheap, and I'd suggest them for a beginner.
Honestly, if you have the money, get a good quality guitar, like an american made Strat or Les Paul. The Gibson SG is fairly popular with a lot of modern bands as well. Think of buying a guitar as an investment. If you buy a nice guitar, first off, it will be easier and more rewarding to play, since it will be a higher quality than anything you get in a starter pack. If you end up sticking with it, you're set for a while as far as a guitar is concerned. If you don't end up sticking with it, you can resell the guitar, likely for as much as you paid for it. If you buy a starter pack, you'll be lucky to sell it for $15 at a tag sale. Just something to think about
nah man you dont want a gibson les paul to start with. theyre like £1500 ($2200 equivalent) my mate has a les paul and hes been playing for 6 years and its not even a gibson, its an epiphone. still authentic, just cheaper. and they sound the same, its just the name your paying for on a gibson les paul really.:rolling: crazy isnt it?
btw if you want a les paul, get a vintage les paul. they sound good and are about £150, so you could buy a beefy amp with it. if you do, i reccomend the 30w marshall.
