Lost Planet PC demo out May 15

Game is absolutely awesome. It's sorta challenging too with the health system. I might actually buy this.

Still won't run, crashes before it even starts... I just updated my Direct X too. :|

**** it, don't have time for this shit... I'll work on it tomorrow after... well, work.

Soon supporting DX10 only is unlikely mate, not until atleast 2009 tbh.

Anyway, I played the DX9 demo, and in all honesty I prefer it with a joypad, that's what the game was designed for from the beginning anyway, good thing I can jack in my 360 joypad to my PC without any problems <3

Btw, Gorgon, is your Vista 64-bit legal or warezed?:> I'm just asking around, I've noticed alot of people who spend like insane amounts of money on their computers, yet they cant be arsed to purchase an OS, cheapskates.

lost planet requires sm3.0 which is dx9; sm4.0 is dx10 only.........i said it will "support" it not be the only way you can play. my point was that most new games will not be using sm2.0 anymore.

Well then, it seems that the game doesn't support AMD Athlons... thus I can't play it.
Damn it all! D:

I can run it fine on my 8800gtx and core 2 duo at 3.3, but the game is pretty lame imo. It's just shooting, shooting, running and shooting some more. Running feels kinda slow but the weapons feel great. Clearly an xbox game with just good graphics. I'll pass.

2.0 is long gone. lots of new games are becoming sm 3.0 only. soon thye will support sm 4.0(dx10)

Which is utter bullshit. I have an AGP motherboard that I got exactley 1 year ago. ALL of the good 3.0 cards I can find are now PCI-express (which I find also extremely retarted). In short, this means I will have to shell out at least 500 bucks just to be able to play any of the latest games at all. I might as well upgrade my whole damn system with dualcore, PCI and DX10. (what an idiot I was for thinking 64bit AMD and AGP 8X were the wave of the future and that dualcores and PCI were just a fad)

Well, no offense, but that was pretty f*cking stupid. AGP has been dead since long before then. I mean, shit, I bought my AGP rig a good 3 years ago and I regret it :p

lol, you're pissed off at other people because you made a dumb decision to buy a agp board based on a stupid conclusion that pci-e was a "fad." This makes me lol. Seriously, how could you think multi-core processors and faster graphics processing technology would be a fad?

LOL. That is really funny. hahahah.

Don't feel bad, there are tons of outdated old games that nobody cares about that you can play until your heart is content.

lol

Sorry, I'm being a dick. Seriously though, there are tons of games you can play. I have a 6 month old computer with a 4 month old $250 PCIexpress x16 card and I'm not even going to bother downloading it, because it won't play good - if at all!

My computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Though it still might play (probably badly), I'm planning on upgrading in June or July. I hear that dual and quad core processors will drop in price to a fraction of what they used to cost. About $230. You should wait to upgrade until then, then you can be on the cutting edge, playing new releases on max settings and getting blown out of your seat. woot:bounce:

Don't forget this is an xbox 360 game. You know, the system that is roughly equivalent to having 2 7900 graphics cards and a 3 core processor?

Wow. Nice one. PCI-e has been the clear future for at least two years now and is a very stable platform. What this tells me is that you didn;t research anything before dropping cash on your computer. Next time you might want to do that.

So I played the demo on Steam, and it was utter garbage. Once you get into settings, what you click on is NOT what you will change..attempting to change a setting on the right panel blanks out a random entry on the left panel...

Once you get into settings, the video test, or the game, there is no way to exit! It just keeps you stuck there, and you have to hard reboot to exit it!

Gay in the ultimate!

wut?

I dont think i had any of those problems. I exited just fine. I think your just missing some marbles.

Anyways, is the game supposed to take a second before your mouse moves register? It kind of feels like its from a bad frame rate, but everything looks really smooth, and keyboard + mouse clicks register as fast as normal. Also, what are the different mouse control types? I tried changing them, but i didnt notice any difference.

Are you using ATi or Nvidia? With ATI, I've used ATi Tray Tools to changed the queue ahead settings.

Like for Oblivion, this is a popular tweak to remove the mouse lag.

Im using a Nvidia 7800gt. Know of any similar fixes that I could use?

one of those Nvidia tweakers can do it. I still don't know if that will fix the particular problem you are having though.

I'm not sure, 'cool bits', stuff like that are nvidia tweakers right?
