I'm no PC newb, but this prob got me confused.
at boot-up, before win xp home loads, i get a stupid "low voltage" error. this appeared recently. i experience no problems once into windows. no i can't change the voltage in the bios, yes i got the newest bios

nein, some dell shit, but in teh bios under power "low power usage" or something was enabled, disabled it, no message.... but when the **** did anything/one enable that?

yep, seems it's fixed now, but i wonder how it got enabled in the first place... thanks anyway Majestic XII (deus ex, right?)

Its not from Deus Ex, its from a secret project over at Area 51 blah blah blah :)

Im glad it worked out :)

i tought it worked out, but now i got it again!?!?!
"Alert! System battery voltage is low"
but no probs at all once in the os...

dell dimension 8300
no idea about motherboard or power supply
IP4 3ghz 800fsb
2x 256pc3200ddr400mhz

and as i said, never gotten this shit before recently...

Check the BIOS battery... just remember that you will reset everything if you remove it (BIOS settings).

1) Is it a laptop or a desktop? You error messages confuses me.
2) Install anything new recently? Go unplug the molex connectors and see if they are alright. I recently had a problem with my harddrives where one of the pins on the molex connectors wasn't attached properly to the harddrive. I didn't have problems for 3 weeks, but then my harddrive would all of a sudden disconnect then reconnect to windows. I just unpluged the molex connector, repositioned one of the wires and then reconnected, I haven't had a problem since.
3) Sounds like a power supply issue.
