Lucid Dreaming

Okay, to ensure that this actually gets interesting, does anyone have any tips for doing this...?

Well, it sort of just happens.
But if you really want to be serious about it, you should probably keep a dream journal of sorts.

Try to remember as much about your dreams as you possibly can.
Like, when you wake up... grab the journal and write down what occurred in the dream or you can just use a tape recorder or something and recite it.

When you wake up in the morning, try taking a nap a few hours later(3 or 4 hours) and have some wake up you up after an hour of sleep.
You'll be able to remember your dreams better this way.

Eh, I really can't type any more... just try reading up on the subject.

I myself have only had a lucid dream once or twice, going to bed after smoking a couple of blunts usually did the trick for me.
But, then again... I couldn't really tell if I was sleeping or not, which is essentially the point.

Here, they seem to have some decent advice.

I do something similar, I basically close my eyes sitting up in my bed with the light on and think of all the things i want to happen. i then go to sleep and then i dream for a while. you gotta get at least 6 hrs of sleep to get some good dreams. last night i dreamed i was driving to Vegas and I got out of my car and flew there even though I was planning on meeting my friend elsewhere. it was pretty liberating and no violence or death were in my dream. i had a lot of them last night

I was ****ing frightened this afternoon. I took a nap 'cause I was exhausted from the plane trip over here, fell asleep, and then I dreamt my brother came into my room and was doing something, not sure what, and I was trying to speak to him but nothing could come out of my mouth above a mumble. Tried to move, no response. It was like dreaming about sleep paralysis. It's the first dream I remember where I've dreamt I woke up.

Once when I was about five my mother woke up to me screaming and I was wide awake and dreaming... it was sort of like picture and picture, but superimposed. I could see her there trying to wake me up but at the same time I was drowning while the oddly-coloured fish around me did nothing.

I don't know if that's the sort of thing you're looking for, but it hasn't happened since. I wish it would though, it feels kinda supernatural.

i think ive had 3-4 but none recently. i just let them come to me, nothing intentional.

That's frightening to you? That's nothing man. I once had a nightmare where Michael Jackson and his family were staying at my house and his son started biting my neck , so I threw him against the wall which caused him to hit his head and get knocked out. Then Michael came in screaming random stuff at me and chased me out into my garden , where I randomly found a shotgun. At that point I knew it was the only way to end the chase so I turned and fired point blank into his head but to my amazement his head came back together in the exact fashion demonstrated by the T-1000. Now he was pissed , he chased me to the very end of my garden and did my shins in with a lead pipe. The last image I remember was Michael Jackson standing over me grinning...

No I believe that is a type of sleep paralysis.

A good way of forcing it to happen is to have a habit of looking at yout hands and realizing your awake.
If you do this long enough, eventually you'll start doing it, out of habit, in your dreams.

When this happens, you realize your not awake, and that turns your dream into a lucid dream, giving you full controle over everything.

If you get them, start thinking about hot dirty sex, it rocks. :naughty:

I've been semi-interested in the subject but I really can't be bothered to keep a dream journal, and even at that I haven't been able to remember my dreams at all recently, even after just having woken up.

last night i got like 3 hrs of sleep. i usually get one really good night of sleep then i have a tough time falling back asleep if i wake up. i think i need ear muffs

Yeah, all the time.

Lucid dreaming = brain porn.

No one who can achieve lucid dreaming really ever chooses to dream about flying and ponies... :naughty:

I've been having lucid dreams every night for the past several months. It's really starting to wreak havoc with my system.

Honestly, the easiest way I've found to enter a lucid dreaming state is to sleep naked.
Seriously, it somehow makes it easier to drift off and enter the lucid dreaming state. Covers are okay though, as I haven't tried it without them for... obvious reasons.

I had a crazy ass scary dream man...

There was all sorts of shit going on... but a large portion of it centered with me being in a bathroom, and I was trying to take a shower or a bath and shit. When I turned on the faucet, tons and tons of small wolf spiders or whatever they were poured out and scattered all over the place.

Also in the bathroom there were large black widows and other types of shit, and I can't remember what it was, but I had this switch for the top of my head that changed my head to mimic the markings of these spiders in the bathroom... and there was no neutral one. Whenever I switched to a marking of a particular spider species, they would clamber towards me and climb up to the top of my head. Sometimes up from my lower body up, and sometimes across their spun webs to my head.

I spent much of that part of the dream frantically switching between my head mimicking thing so that the spiders kept their distance as it changed too fast for them to get too close.

I was terrified as ****.

I had a crazy ass scary dream man...

And running away screaming like a little girl didn't occur to you?

Also once I had a weird dream/nightmare where after running for a while I finally faced the monster and it morphed into a naked chick. You can guess the rest... :naughty:

Here we are again. The old cryptic post gag. Enjoy:

//

What can be said about the image enclosed? It's down-right disturbing.

Nonetheless, it's an image I've seen at least 3 times before.

So when I saw your post I was like "man, I have to get (find) that image again and post it."

But the cryptic part is the real bitch. I hate doing this. It takes me forever.

/

I've spent at least 41 minutes just up to this point already.

/

Is it really worth it? I find myself asking this question. Will many lols be had?

/

I think, 187 lols will be had.

/

Yeah, 187. Not 0, not 98, not 22, not 12.

Why isn't there a new image format for gif, it's like super old and wtf at 256 color limit.

Hah! It doesn't even work!
My eyes have been saved and my curiosity thwarted.

edit: For some reason it kept trying to open up internet explorer when I clicked open but I opened it with paint and it's not even that bad.
You could've gotten away with posting it. :|

It does work.

As the last one did.

You people fail.

I'm going to say this one more time.

I do not ****ing make mistakes in this kind of thing.

On the whole I don't get frighetened by the absolutely ridiculous. More the mundane grown terrifying.
