Heres some food for thought though. Apple uses Mac OS X Server mainly on their primary website because anything else would look bad for business.On their local sites they seem to prefer Solaris and Windows 2000.

Stable when configured and run properly. I havent crashed in weeks, its mostly due to incompatible software.

Fast. In fact, much faster than any Mac machine.

It too works, which is why such a vast majority use it.

I view Mac as for people who don't want to have to do much, have issues or know about things. They just want to use it. The platform and the software is all under Apple. That makes it all simple. It doesn't come cheap though.
I had been thinking about getting an Apple laptop awhile back myself.

PC's are great as they are compatible with just about anything and you are more likely to be able to upgrade parts of your existing PC rather than throw it out and buy new. Much more customization and getting a PC exactly how you want it.
There is no other for Gaming and they also perform great in Audio/Video now. I'd actually rather have a dual Opteron system instead of a G5. Unless of course I wanted to use Final Cut Pro.

Those who swear by SMP (Dual CPUs) are more likely to be Mac users than PC. Although for most applications, especially for the Desktop, Dual CPUs do not add any performance advantage.

I don't care for Apple's marketing nor their loyal followers' blind faith.
