It's been a while since I've been active, but an overwhelming urge in me has built up over the past few months to talk to like minded gamers about what I think is a truly incredible independent game set for release this yeah.

I bring you Machinarium.

From what I've seen, I love every single facet of this little gem from the hand-drawn art style to the toddling protagonist made from scrap. I went through great lengths to download a version of the trailer and stick in on my iPod so I can watch it any time, which I do nearly daily. This is mainly because of the music, which to me is one of the most perfect pieces I've ever heard.

If this doesn't achieve the same recognition Braid did it will be a great injustice.

This looks absolutely fantastic. I've been following it.

Wow, absolutely amazing art style. Looks like a fantastic puzzler. I didn't see platforms mentioned, do you happen to know what it's available for? If it's available on the PS3, I'll most definitely get it.

As far as I know it's PC and Mac only. Not sure point-and-click would work so well on consoles.

There was a thread on this game just a few months back.:)

Anyway, the game looks interesting.

Problem is the gorgeous high resolution artwork would have to compressed down to 480p. I don't feel that would do the intricacy of his drawings justice.

Waitwaitwaitwait what? Mac? Shiiiiit, son - I LOVE the look of this game but presumed it was going to be a PS3 title as they're pretty in the know when it comes to unique looking games (or at least, LBP does, anyway) but man, now I'm following this even more.

I don't know what you do in this game, but it looks awesome.

Oh my god it's like a weird beautiful Beneath A Steel Sky.

Looks interesting.
Not a big fan of point and click adventure games though.

I'll keep an eye on it anyways.

Saw a preview a few months ago... does look really cool.

Often my gripe with such artistic games is that interactive objects and characters are highlighted so that they can be easily seen, but then it doesnt fit with the background art.

I've played some of this, and whilst it is still a little rough around the edges it has all the hall marks of a great game. I am really looking forward to seeing this game get released, it should rock :D

You can find my preview at the following link - http://resolution-magazine.co.uk/content/?p=1178

As far as I know this is the most up-to-date hands on with the game :D

It looks shit.

I'd far rather play a game where I get to shoot Germans.

Kinda reminds me of the hold Hapland games. This is from looks mind you.

Not yet. Downloading tonight. Can't wait! Pre-ordered and the soundtrack sounds wonderful from the songs in the pre-order pack. This looks like such a charming game.

UPDATE: played the demo last night and it is full of charm and wonder. The art is gorgeous, the animation is brilliant, the music is atmospheric, the puzzles are intriguing, the humor is just enough to be funny and not over-the-top. Overall, an awesome time. The full game should obviously have more complex puzzles and scenarios and interactions.

My main complaint stems from the controls. Specifically, grabbing an inventory item then right-clicking to get rid of it from your cursor brings up the Flash properties menu. In almost all adventure games I can think of, a right-click would cancel the use of that inventory item. It could be that this is just me, but this was very annoying. I am sure I will get used to it over the course of a longer play session.

A great game (so far).

Gorgeous game, I love how such a simple game can have so much atmosphere.

Took me a second play through of the demo to notice the little mini game :)

I'll have to try it. Sounds... interesting.

I heard about this some time ago on ModDB. I knew it was going to be cool *downloading the demo*

Charming little demo. I agree with VoS though that the controls can be awkward at times.

If my experiences with the preview build a few months ago were anytihng to go by, this game is going to be amazing :)

Not from what I saw.

I really love the art style of this game. To be honest I had forgotten about it, so thanks for pointing it out.

Whats this mini game?

I really want to try out this game but the demo turns my computer into a complete slide show. I'm getting about 4 seconds per frame on this old Athlon 64/ATI x800.

I'm downloading the Mac version, hopefully it will run better on the Core2 iMac.

Your machine has issues with flash? Wow.

Absolutely amazing style, and great gameplay as well! :) I would def rate this as a buy.

The game is up for pre-order on Steam now, in case anyone is interested.

The whole 'Pirate Amnesty' thing is a little patronising but at $5 this is well worth it for any fan of point and click adventures. Great artwork, nice feel and atmos to the game.

played this recently when steam for mac launched, loved every second of it. easily one of the best games i've played in a long while.

I bought it direct from the devs when it came out, at the new price everyone should be getting this.
