Macross Zero - Awesome Anime Series

I came across a discription to this anime on a site, and saw some screen shots and I became very interested in it. If you have never heard of this, imagine Top Gun/Gundam wing with a twist of tribal belief. Its quite amazing but am only on episode 3. Check out this description.

"It was 1999 when a huge extraterrestrial battleship fell down to the Earth and brought superior technology which led to the beginning of war between U.N and Anti-U.N. Eight years have passed, so many veteran pilots were lost one after another, so even boys in their teens were gathered into the battlefield to fight the war.

Shin Kudou, a young U.N F-14 pilot and the main character of the story gets shot down by an unknown enemy ship during a sortie and crash landed on a solitary island.

Coincidentally, an unusual energy reaction is detected on the island, and the energy reaction might be originated from the Protoculture's superior technology legacy which was brought by the extraterrestrial at ancient times. This technology legacy is very similar from the recovered fallen extraterrestrial battleship eight years ago.

Now, both of U.N and Anti-U.N are going to invade the island for the quest of recovering the legacy and the superior technology it posesses..."-taken from animeinfo.com

I watched the Macross series back in the 80's. I kinda got lost after awhile but I'll give this a shot if it makes it to my local blockbuster

Why you gotta be hatin'? Anyhow I never saw the macross series before, so I am impressed. And it takes quite a bit to impress me... and plus u get to see a naked chick for like 1.2 seconds in the second episode, that should interest some of you

Macross Zero really Rocks...it's the prequel to the Robotech series/Macross saga from the 80s. Right now I'm waiting for Episode 5.

Macross Zero and Macross Plus are AWESOME!!! Best aerial battles EVER!!!

Other anime i'd suggest that you could download from BitTorrent are Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, Gungrave, and FLCL(really fu*ked up, but cool!!)

Macross Zero OAV
OAV stands for Original Animation Video..
They usually create ovas after a series has been done, to show the history of the original series... I tried to watch some Macross Zero, but couldn't stand it...
This, however, is much different. It looks great and the storyline is rather compelling. Great characters and simply incredible action sequences (the best i've ever seen in anime and north american TV).

This is like Top Gun + CG Animation + Japanese Animation + Mechs + Good Plot = a very nice anime.

For those of you who usually download pirated movies, or have broadband and bandwidth to kill, I would request that you *try* this. You don't have to like it, all I want is for you to acknowledge that there is japanese animation out there that is NOT pokemon, digimon, yugioh and sailor moon.
