I saw this thread on a different forum and it was pretty wild...

Sooo, come up with your own class, and preferably, discuss what weapons it would have, its strengths/weakness, rival class.. anything else.

To be honest, i really cant come up with one right now, i might later. Ill see what you guys create first..

Ninja (couldn't help it)

Primary weapon: Silenced tranquilizer (cant kill but does bring enemies health down to as far as 1, but by then the Ninja would probably be dead)

Secondary weapon: Shuriken (throwing stars, like the soilders rockets take some time to hit their targets but do decent damage)

Melee weapon: Katana (pretty straightforward, basically the Snipers Kukri but it looks cooler and on rare occasions can parry other melee weapons)

Strengths: Medic speed and moderate health, high jumper.

Weaknesses: Crit rockets (...), rapid fire, inability to normally kill enemies with the primary weapon except headshots with it, single fire, and... it's pretty straight forward, he stands out greatly.

Rival Class: PIRATE! Ok in all seriousness... Heavy, Spy, Scout. (Heavy is rival to almost anything, the Spy can backstab ANYTHING, that's it. Anything. And the Scout just basically outruns and can follow him almost anywhere with his double jump.

I can't think of a good name for this class but basicly he's a class who's main ability is to use little remote-controlled toys of death. Low health and moderate speed he needs to stay out of fights.

Primary weapon: Uzi (inaccurate automatic weapon)
Secondary weapon: Pistol
Melee weapon: Crowbar (just because I can't come up with a better idea)
Other: Remote control

The remote allows access to severeal remote-control vehicles. When he is controlling a vehicle this class is extremely vunerable as he cannot see what is around him and would probably benefit greatly from hanging around an engineer nest. The vehicles can also only go a limited distance from their controller (this could be varied within maps for balance) so that he can't just camp in his own base or spawn room.

Helicopter: A small helicopter with a submachine gun attached. The weakest of the vehicles.
Spider-bot: A small robot with a shotgun-type weapon. Can crawl along walls and ceilings as easily as floors. Strongest armour of the vehicles.
Car: A little fast car with a small canon attached. It is the fastest of the vehicles.

All vehicles can steal intelligence and capture points. I suppose a system similar to the engi's metal would be required.

Kind of a mix of a medic and an engi, he can add temporary power ups to people (like bionics faster legs to a scout, see through skin for a spy, etc...)

Liked Genius idea.

New idea: people upload a too scale image of themselves and then attach that to the class of their choice so basically you play as yourself. Of course some people might be not right for scout so they would be shown as using either a segway or a scooter.

Hunter
The hunter is a class with health and speed similar to the sniper. Unlike the sniper he focuses on short range and must rely on ambush and traps. To help him in this if he crouches and stays still he will turn invisible after 5 seconds. As long as he doesn't move he will stay invisible though his invisiblity will flicker randomly.

Primary weapon: Shotgun (Original el oh el)
Secondary weapon: Revolver
Melee: Hunting knife. The hunting knife has a slow rate of fire but is powerful. If the hunter can stab someone less then a second after he was previously invisible he gets a guarenteed critical.
Other: Tripwire. A literal tripwire with a bomb at one end. The Hunter places the end with the bomb first and then the other can be placed a moderate distance from the bomb. Can be placed on walls and ceilings as well as floor. When the wire is tripped the bomb goes off. The tripwire can also be triggered by being shot.

That sounds more like unlockable weapons for the spy.

Primary Weapon: Can switch the best player on the other team to his own team.

Secondary Weapon: Can make the other teams hud display a cap point is being taken or intel has been picked up when there is nobody there

Melee: plays Kenny Rogers music forcing enemy to stop fighting and ponder the deep lyrics of the gambler over a pint of ale

Primary: The Analyzer

Other: The Modifier

The Scientist is an adaptive class that can provide unique support skills needed in a team. his primary weapon the analyzer can copy the abilities of the last non-melee weapon that the Scientist was attacked with but the copied attacks deal 20% less damage and last for only one clip of ammo, secondary fire releases the current fire ability from the gun. His other tool The Modifier can take whatever ability is currently stored in The Analyzer and transfer it to friendly Sentry Guns for 10 seconds once it is fully charged after The Scientist absorbs 10 attacks in one life.

Long time no post...but I couldn't resist.
Some time ago I had this idea for a modification for TF2...some sort of ratsmap. TF2-Toys.
The idea never made it into a mod...to many things to do...not enough time (story of my life) -or am I just lazy?- Anyway...I created this new character: The human fly.
This character can scale vertical walls and leave ropes and 'slides' for their team, thus creating alternative routes. Weapons, some sort of 'hook-dagger and acid-bombs (molotov-coktail alike) and off course the ropes themselfs -wich arent exactly weapons- (think spiderman)...Oh and she's female...anyway here's a pick:
