I don't know about the UK, but back here in the US, there are these stupid ass commercials, where theres a guy who represents a PC, and a guy who represents a Mac, and they talk about how great they are. In these commercials, the Mac guy always comes out on top, which isn't bad on its own, but he always talks about total bullshit. Good examples include him gloating about how he's more compatible with things that PCs (since when?!) and that he can run windows (so the **** what?)

Since these commercials annoy me, I want to make a thread where people can make up their own versions of these commercials. Here are mine.

pc guy "hi, im a mac, and im faster"

pc guy "why?"

mac guy "uhhhh.."

pc guy "i have an AMD dual core 4800+ processor with a 2 meg L2 cache and a high clock speed. what do you have?"

mac guy "I dunno, iTunes?"

mac guy "i have iTunes and no viruses, im so great, and i look really sexy to. what do u have PC guy?"

pc guy "i own 95 percent of the computer market, i dont give a shit about debating with you."
 
how about you calm down and stop bashing a product you hate becuase its different that what you use and doesn't involve violent games.
this is a worthless thread. go away.
macs are good computers. you pay for well put together hardware and great software and OS that works without fuss. they are not made to play CS:S.
And no, I don't own a mac.
 
i hate apple because they bought emagic and discontinued the pc version of logic. ****s.
 
I'm just not all about Mac cuz I like being able to customize my machine instead of just buy a proprietary box with a little apple on it.

thats a perfectly fine sentiment, and I'm cool with that.
But that doesn't mean you should go around making threads like mr. cranky fanboy up there....
 
If that's the case then Mac should stop pretending to do everything better than the PC, incl. games.
 
I'd buy one in a SECOND if developers supported them.

That said, the gap between mac and PC is closing, as far as I can tell.

why do people hate macs? omg macs don't play half life 2!1!11!!

the apple operating system is pimp, and while it doesn't play video games, it is amazingly advanced. Holy shit it doesn't have a start button what do i do?! Why are the close buttons on the wrong side! Wah wah my uncle had an apple running 8.2 and it was slow so all apples must suck waaaah!

yea i own a window machine, i also owned a powerbook till a lady on an airplane broke it. I loved my mac, but for different reasons than my windows box. They are both awesome machines, and i have nothing against either of them.

What the hell are you talking about? Violent games can't play on Macs? What sort of substance are you smoking? o_0 You are a very strange person and like to make seemingly random comments, like the 1984 one in the magnet-finger thread. It's troubling so please stop. : /

Those commercials are so bad, so very very bad. Apple is shifting their targetting market from just old people who don't know jack shit about computers to young hipster kids. This bastardization is the result. I hate those commercials with a passion, and I think the reverse would be hilarious to see.

That one where they are discussing what programs come with PC and Mac is just ridiculous.

I like Macs to some extent, and I definately don't hate them. But these commercials are crap. :(
 
Dudes, he was bashing the ads, not macs. They DO suck. Let's hear someone dispute that.
 
the ads are funny and well made, but incredibly incorrect + lame.. actually, i really despise apple for insulting their competitors and using 'below the belt' campaigns, they've been doing it since win 95, and probably before.

i'll see if i can think of some later. : o

One of the few reasons macs are so popular is because schools and businesses somehow got roped into buying them.

...this has to be the most idiotic rivalry since pepsi vs coke ....bet most of you have never used a mac for any extended period of time but feel you're entitled to an opinion ...not sure why you think that but I'm sure you have a better reason than "it sucks" ...well so does horseradish but I dont go to pains to tell everyone that I dont like horseradish ...seriously this sort of fanboyism is truely idiotic and does nothing except make people look like ....well idiots
 
Sterny, this is about the adverts, not the actual macs.

I love Macs, specially Garageband (Best audio suite ever), and the video editing exceeds windows in almost every way possible. I've even copied part of their layout with Aqua Dock since it's far more productive.

Hate the ads though. Glad we don't get them over in the UK.

hahahah garage band is SHIT. its so bad. its the most basic piece of shit known to man. if you want to actually make music instead of cheating and putting stupid loops together get something else.

I had to use lots of high end macs at my art college. Feh.

Give me PC any day

I can't really think of any reason to use a mac. And i'm an artist, the kinda people mac advertises to. Photoshop and painter and whatnot fun just as well on my PC AND i can play assloads of games. And upgrading can be done how i want, I don't have to buy a ridiculously expensive upgrade package.
As for viruses, in the past 2 years i've only gotten 1 virus, it was inconsequential and took less than a minute to get rid of. Mac is resorting to scare tactics as far as i'm concerned.
 
If apple provides the same type of support for their computers as they do for their iPods, they're screwed.
 
i have both. my pc is for games. my mac laptop (ppc not intel) is for medical school. i love my pc for entertainment and my mac for work. I think you guys should compare operating systems, not hardware. OS X pwns win_everything. If they released OS X for the pc, i think they would sell like hotcakes.

as for the adverts, this is typical Apple.
