Those sentences stack against parole. The more life sentences you have, the longer it will take to even secure a parole hearing, let alone the fact that having those other life sentences makes you less likely to achieve parole.

I guess it's better they gave the SOB life...because now he'll be in hell for a while. After all, it's not like they'd have given him the type of death the twisted f*ck deserves. But, if they were to do that, I'd be all for giving him the death penalty.

Last time I checked, a "life" sentence usually ends up being quite a bit less than 30 years... that is, if the jail even has room for them. If there isn't enough room it could be much less. I know at one point a city in New York had jails that were so saturated the criminals were just sentenced and then let go without serving a minute in jail.
