I dunno, BF'42 got boring rather quick, Desert Combat extended it's lifespan for a bit, but the community started sucking more and more.

Anyway, the new game. One thing I don't like is the lack of tunnels, the Vietcong heavily used their tunnel system for surprise attacks and all that, but apparently the beefed up BF engine can't handle them for some reason :/

BF1942's engine makes terrain out of heightmaps... and you can't show tunnels in a heightmap.

It doesn't really matter to me. I'm not even touching this game...I've played my share of crappy war games. Though many of you may think it's blasphemy, I never really liked the MoH games...and like Bunny said - BF1942 got boring real quick.
I think there are enough old war games...what we need now are some futuristic war games...FPS ones that is.

Sad thing is that Halo is all you can really look forward to as a Futuristic War game that's an FPS.
It seems like almost all of the other futuristic war games have something do with giant robots. And a lot of the robots aren't even cool.

I haven't played the PC port, so I can't vouch for the massive complaints I've heard. I know the Xbox version keeps me happy from time to time. I'm really looking forward to Halo 2.

Battlefield is a good game, i will probably pick up Vietnam it looks pretty cool. As for the MoH games, there is only one good one out of the whole unbelievabley horrible series and that is Allied Assault which is awsome(Spearhead was alright though but that is an expansion). The original and underground and frontline and Rising Sun and any other ones suck, they really really suck, i hope Pacific Assault is good though.

I like the screenshot where the guy on the moped's wheels have detatched and his wrists are bent at well over 90 degree angles while driving normally. Not the best first impression.

I love Desert Combat when I'm playing it on a LAN. Internet Battlefield is kinda crappy due to lag and lack of intelligent players. Smacktards are like 90% of the population! I don't think I will buy Battlefield Vietnam, because it's basically the same game in a different setting. They improved graphics slightly and added vehicle carrying capabilities... but that's about all it seems to be worth in my opinion. I can fly choppers in DC, so I don't see a reason to spend more money at the moment.
