So I was sitting talking to a friend on aim, and I was thinking about stuff to sell on ebay for some money, as I'm saving up for a new video card. Suddenly I say to myself ..wait I have 2 sticks of ram I can sell.

So I go to test them, I put one in (512 ddr333) and my computer estarts like 2 times per second, then I saw that just one of the gold leads had somehow been torn.

I go to test the second one (256 ddr333) and the pc starts but the chipset and hsf fans dont spin. I take it out, same shit happens...so I yell "F*CK" so loud my mom in the basement heard me becuase I thought I fried my motherboard, which would suck because my Athlon 64 mobo i RMA'd last week cause it died. After this I reset the cmos hoping that would help, but it made it worse. now the only thing that would happen is that the power indicator LED would light up. I then tore my pc apart, took my xp2600+ out, tried my 2100+, nothing. Put the 2600+ back in and reset the cmos again and it magically booted, and I'm on it now.

So basically I am whining that I'm out of maybe $80 i could have sold.

Can anyone give me a lead as to some general category of something I could sell on ebay to get some extra money for a video card?

Do you have any books? You can always sell some of your old books on half.com (or ebay). That's what I do.

how much can I get from that? Yeah, I have tons and tons of old books.

It depends on what kind of books they are and how old they are. Like for textbooks, you can probably get a good amount for them if they are still in good condition and fairly new editions. But, if you are talking about regular fiction / non-fiction books, you might not get much out of selling them.

If you go to half.com, you can search to see if a book you have is selling, and you can see what people are asking for the book, so you can get estimates from what they are selling for. To search just look at the back of your book for the ISBN number and type that into a search.

Hmm.. I wonder if my school will be pissed if i dont return my books this year..

Obviously I'm not talking about high school textbooks, since the public school owns them...

I hate the cost of books for college, killer on my wallet

Maybe I could borrow some more of my school books for my friends ;) and still have money left over for a drink or two

Get a job! or another job depending on your case.

Ebay will buy anything! Try selling your soul, body or your dignity.

I'm thinking the same thing. Unfortunately...I'm in high school so I don't own any textbooks. =(

TONY: I asked two people at school today and they both told me to sell my soul. Don't think itll work though.

Just get a $200 laptop, it has ms calculator on...

Well seriously, there is only one way out of this. Just keep saving up until you can afford it, there is no point sacrificing something to get it.

Check your local library for some old books. I bought two college level algebra books from my library for fifty cents. I wonder how much they are really worth.

put them on ebay and find out, then close the auction 5 minutes before it ends.

^^It's what I did with my mom precious moments dolls when she wanted to see how much they were worth....except remember to close the auction. I forgot to, and to say the least my mom was pissed.

An apparently Ebay has a policy that says if an item from an auction is won and you havent receieve paymend, you can't cancel the deal. Fuggin gay!

I remember some people were selling their virginity lol
