I know this is old but I only found out a few days ago :(

Apparently, there was a murder in New Zealand and the police think it was because he had manhunt  although I never played the game I knew what it was about and you just don't go around killing people...

I also heard all games with sniper rifles in them are banned in Washington, is this true?

im sure i saw manhunt in a harvey normans store one day
it had a picture of some guy with tv lines and the name manhunt (i think)
and the bit about banning all games with sniper rifles in them in washington just sounds ridiculessm

I remember it being banned in New Zealand ages ago .. a little bit late for Manhunt as it's already being released here hasn't it?

yes destrukt it has been out for about a year

Some reasearch was done on children aged 5 - 8 where they would play games like Mortal Kombat while strapped to a heart rate monitor. Thier heart rates didn't increase or decrease. Then the children played passive games with no violence at all. Once again, thier heart rates weren't changed. So then they played in a playground. Not surpisingly thier heart rates increased dramaticlly because of the activity they were doing.

In America however the children's heart rates increased a hell of a lot when playing the violent games

Most people want all violent games banned in the world forever :frown: those people just need to shut up
