map fy_cave (pics inside)

I have made a map called fy_cave ( not finished with lights and physics) and im almost finished. Is almost my first map and i would like to se what you guys think of it.. dont sloughter me :)

tip for picture 3 area:

Press: Toggle Texture App.
Select the ground
select "dissplacement" in the Toggle Texture App.
create
noise (Min 0 Max +2 or +3 or something like that) :thumbs:
 
Agreed with the lighting.. Even being a cave you can always come up with excuses for more light. Maybe shafts of light coming through holes at the top from way up high in the rock. Lots of torches n stuff too.

Does look good so far though :)

The brush gets real thin in the hammer 3d view, but not in the 2d views, so i don't know if you need to cover them up (to prevent leakage) or not...
 
you should make an auto equip with night vision so everyone gets it
 
How do u do that! argh i cant figure that out, ive been trying to get a player spawn with items like kevlar and nightvision but no one knows how >.<
 
you will need to create a brush with the nodraw texture right below the brush that you made into displacement for sealing the map.

It looks pretty good. Id go with what elf said like shafts of light would be cool looking.
 
I don't think it's possible to get players to spawn with weapons or items in css, same things goes for trying to limit which weapons will be buyable
