Map help please!!

Ok IM not sure if this is the right section but.Ok when I make that beginners map off of the wiki or whatever I do every thing it says then when I start it I spawn and I can move around and stuff and jump thenn the screen goes black and when I press esc it goes to the menu but I cant see it.I can scroll over the words but cant see em.Thanks for any help.

Youre info_player_start is in the map ?.. not somewhere in the "void".

Oh man, I had that happen on a map I was making. I could walk around and do absolutely anything, but after a random amount of time, the screen would go completely black, and I had to ctrl-alt-del to get out.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how I fixed it. Try experimenting with finding out if you misused vertex editing, check for holes, play with lights, try different maps. I wish I could be of more help.

Try to run your map from Steam instead of letting Hammer start the game for you.
