map problem

ok im working on my map and i decide that i want to check out to see how it is going so i press the run game button and it brings me to the game, i click on create server and then i go down and find my map, i click on it and nothing comes up so then i go and get on my server with a different map and i bring down the console and i try to change the map to the one i made and it says my map couldnt b found, i saved it, i dont know if it was in the right place or not but can some1 please help me, this was for a hl2 dm map. :afro:

make sure its in the right folder, it should be under
c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\yourname\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\maps

if its not there then you need to check your settings in hammer, you can configure it to place the map there when its compiled.

i dont know why but its still not working, mayb one of my settings is messed up can u please help :rolling:

Are there any spaces in the name?

You can't have spaces... put_ or something..

are you sure hammer is configured for hl2dm? If it isn't it will put the map in a diff place and it wont work with dm. Press tools, options and see what its configured for. hope that helps :cheers:

: p, i did this a couple times before, thats how i knew, if you look closely in the cousle, it says somthing about it can't load "firstword" so i knew what it was : p
