map_prop_static: CH 53 Helicopter

I know, im just telling you what i think you shoud add to it to finish it off.
 
Keep it clean. No dirt. VERY friggen sweet. Although I'm worried about the polies...
 
yeah, you should realy invest the time to make this thing "drivable" though its your model, and a very sweet one at that. great job. :thumbs:
 
i would watermark my texture if I would post it...

all the final UV maps have "www.off-limits.be" on them, so thats our watermark + the signature of the texturer

this is a WiP, and if anyone steals a WiP half UV map, well, whatever ;o
and they would need to make the model 1st aswell AND make sure their UV map fits mine. So imHo that would be to much work (even for a thief :p )
but as a matter of fact we did have a thief weapon modeler / skinner who wanted to join our mod about a month ago, he modeled + skinned an mp5k in less then 2 hours... of course i know he was full of shit, and after some research he stole the textures from a MP5 + Colt weapon .. so yea, it IS possible, but they will always be revealed sooner or later and get hanged :p

yeah i had one of those guys on my team as well he sent us a wip of the model (untextured) and then whilst going through the model i found that it was already unwrapped ...
they usualy steal cs models.

Mapping looks very bland and more like a HL1 map to be honest.

The helicopter is looking prety nice though, like the look of the skin, riveted metal panels :)
 
Saw this container just 7 houts ago aside on the road, took some shots and modeled it for prop_static (for our MOD)
texturemap: 512*512
trianglecount: 480

(oh, the inside is low-quality because the container is 2m50cm high, so the outside is the part that counts, and for a prop_static i think it's more then good enough ... ;o )

Just an idea for you. I would watch the scaling in CS:S since its different from HL2 I think it anyway. I could be wrong.

perspective is just a 3DSmax setting, my models are straight and in-order so whatever :)

ichi: the scale is set int he .qc file isn't it ?

I wasn't saying your model was screwed I just don't understand why you posted a scewed perspective... It sould be nice to see the model in a "normal" camPersp.

i rendered it in "user" mode, my presentations lack some quality i know. What's the best viewport to render in ?

well, thanks for the remark, i just rendered it in "perspective" and the view looks a lot better indeed, from now on i'll render in perspective (and work in user only) :)

that content of that container is REALLY stretched.
Should just make it another map, so that if would atleast look abit good ;)

well, the back propeller will still spin in the beginning of the round (so will the top one, since you just landed with the team) so, if you were to walk into the rear propeller, it would be dumb of you :p
 
The thing is I have assigned the blade part of the physbox (collision) to the rotateing bones but they dont rotate. I know when your on a mod team your sposed to be 100% for the mod and they dont like you fooling with other peoples problems, but would you take a look at it, or could you maybe offer some sugestions, asside from that one thing the physbox works perfectly.

if it's a matter of rotating the collision i don't know that (our coders do that) i'm the modeler :p
If you really can't find it, go to our forums, and ask there, i'm sure one of the two coders will reply and help.

If the collisions don't work at all, then i might be able to help you

has it been 8 months ? :/
decided to finish this model once and for all, started the other side + bottom. Also added one of our characters in the doorway to give an idea how big it is ;)
