Mapping Help

Hey, i think that I'm gunna get started on trying to learn HL2 mapping but i have a few questions first:

1. How hard is it to learn how to use the tools if you've never had any mapping or modding experience whatsoever (Assuming that I'm not a total idiot.) 1-10? (10 being the hardest) If it helps, I'm 14, I'm not a computer genious but I've been using them since i was about 9.

2. How long does it take to make what could be considered a decent map? And how much commitment does it take? (For example: 4 hours a day for a week)

3. What are some good sites for beginners who want to learn HL2 mapping? (provide links please)

1: it took me 3 to 4 days for me to learn most of the tools..

2: If you just want fo make a fun map or something you could use 2-3 houres but if you want to make cs_ de_ it depends on how big.. And how detailed..

If i where you id learn all the basics before you start with big maps.. Just make a room with lights and startpoints and stuff.. mess around..
