Am I simply remembering things that didn;t happen or was there a quote somewhere where it was confirmed Laidlaw had the whole Half-Life story already planned out. I have faith that he could do it, as he already deserves a ****ing medal, but is it already done, with all the questions answered already and sitting in his house somewhere or is he writing it as he goes along?

From my understanding, the big issues are plotted out such as the G-Man and Combine, however they haven't necessarily been plotted since the very beginning of the Half-Life series, and Valve are very flexible on any but the most critical details. It wouldn't be impossible for Laidlaw to change his mind on what he has already decided.

He would be the only person I would trust to write the script for a Half Life movie.

And yes I agree he dooes > all of humanity.

From what I remember, LaidLaw did write a HL "Bible", but I'm guessing it just delivered the major plot details, also as someone else said that doesn't mean that it is "written in stone." Although from one of the interviews, I think it was Gabe or whatever who said, that they already know how it is going to end (maybe they just meant the episode trilogy).

Well, that's a slight exaggeration.

Perhaps, when they are 'done' with the Half Life story, he'll publish the story in a book? I'd certainly read it.

That'd be troublesome, considering, that it'd act against the whole "Gordon Freeman is you" angle. I mean, a book would force Dr. Freeman to talk and make decisive actions...

Marc Laidlaw is my hero, I really love him.
I don't know if you read his short stories on scifi.com, they are great but it's not Half-Life style...

Have fun!

I remember Valve saying they had more story than ways to convey it.
