Has anyone here read any of Laidlaw's previous work? Valve's site lists a couple of his books (Dad's Nuke and The 37th Mandala). I've never seen either in any bookstores. Also, if I remember correctly, at the start of HL1 The 37th Mandala is sitting in Gordon's locker. Are these books any good?

prolly...i dont read books though..its a shame cause i hear some of them are good entertainment and teach you morals and shit.

That is because he works for Valve and he helped write and design Half Life.

Yes, I realize he works at Valve. That's why I posted this in a Half-Life forum. I was just wondering if his previous work is any good.

I have actually bought The 37th mandala after seeing it in gorden's locker. It is a pretty good book, scarry and strange, kinda like halflife.
You can find marc liadlaws books in amazon.com

I've also read the 37th Mandala. Pretty good, but I wouldn't read it again. I've also got the Third Force, but I lost interest after a few chapters and didn't pick it up again.
