March 15th?

I'm absolutely certain (to an extent) that March 15 can't be the date and I don't suggest any one try to argue for it (though you can believe it if you like) because it will probably end up with an unpleasan 'told-you-so' effect.
I agree a little with mbrithoms that they were proabably working on maps and stuff though I'm pretty sure they are just polishing and adding on.
 
I can guarentee it won't be out on the 15th March.

1) We'd know about it. YES! We really would!!
2) They're not going to release their best title for five years and then release a game based on an engine that's nearly 10 years old immediately after it.
3) The release date hasn't been confirmed. If it had then we'd know about it. Currently it is TBC/Summer 2004. I'll still be freezing my arse off in a weeks time. It's not summer.
4) It is extremely bad marketing to release a game without telling anyone.
5) They're showing it at E3.
6) We'd know about it.
7) A small gaming magazine that only two people have heard of would not know more than we do.
8) We'd already know about it.
9) We'd know about it already.

mmkay?
 
If thats true, then Im gonna be spending $150(**** you euro people, Im not translating that) on games. Battelfield: Vietnam, UT2K4, and now HL2, but I seriously doubt HL2 will come out next week.

Ohh and by the way, if Half Life 2 were to come out next week, we wouldev heard about it going gold last week.
 
If HL2 was coming out next monday then why would Valve want to show it at E3? Wouldn't that be a bit....pointless if the game has already been out for months by then?

i heard from a VERY reliable source that it was being released april 1. and that all the copies crash on install! april fools suckers.

There would be alot more hype if it were to be released within the next week. To not do so would be a terrible mistake from a business stand point. Would surprise the **** out of people tho
 
Valve will annouce HL2 going gold at E3 and we'll see it soon after that.
 
They'll anounce a final version at E3 then we'll see it 6 months later ala CS:CZ.

Errr... they'd only need to do that if the hacker actively deleted stuff, and I doubt he did that.
 
No Brian Damage by that logic, he means that valve is re making all the maps models and textures so that the people who dowloaded the beta will have a fresh new experience when they buy the game lol
 
a friend of mine in new york who has an uncle who works for sierra told me that hl2 is out already and all is finished and they just want to piss everybody off.
 
My girlfriend's sister's boyfriend's father's cousin who works as a janitor for Vivendi Universal who has a contact who works for the Sierra Studios label you speaks to someone very high up in the company every 3 weeks at the coffee machine who's sister is going out with the managing director says that Half-Life 2 has been cancelled and they're now hard at work on Half-Life 3. It's true.

Yeah, thats why im not hoping for it to be released before september, I also kinda hope that it would get released then, since im gonna be gone alot during the summer, hate to have it released then and not be able to play :(

He obviously thought that VALVe had actually, literally, lost stuff. As in deletion.
 
At least far-cry is coming out soon. That should divert my attention a bit whilest I wait for HL2.
 
Heh, the fact that they are keeping quiet about the date doesn't bother me anyway. They have already let us down once, announcing a date and missing it again will be worse then just keeping quiet. This allows us to get on with our lives with out thinking about it too much and then when the game is fnially out we will have a surprise. It also gives me more time to save money up for a whoop arse computer (mobbo, vid card, CPU, memory). I am kind of hoping that a socket 939 PCI express board will come out at the same time as does the game, and the latest video card. Then, when you intially play the game you will get the best experience possible

:hmph: I wonder... if some crazed Half-Life fan were to go crazy over the wait for Half Life 2 and he/she ends up killing his/herself over it... maybe those guys at Valve will realize to stop torturing us and finally REALLY release it. Nah... probably not :D
