I lost a good amount of respect for marky mark after this...

First, here's Andy Samberg doing his impression of Mark:

****ing hilarious, but I digress. Here's one of his two reactions:

Then him on Kimmel:

what a fag...loosen up mark, you'll live longer. I'm confused as to why he was a lot more upset on Kimmel.

The sketch and his reaction were both pretty funny.

My respect for him stays the same.

Uh...sometimes, I see people who have broken sarcasm meters. Son, I think in your case you don't have one installed at all.

You either.

Ohhhhh looks like you fell into my doble switcheroo trap! I was being sarcastic because OP couldn't tell Mark was being sarcastic! So there!

To be fair, Andy's Wahlberg impression is barely passable. It's pretty funny that Marky Mark was so offended by it. SNL would be wise to fire back with Andy imitating him in his rapper / underwear model days.

Ahahaha, I was listening to the Godhand ending when I clicked on that video. This is great.

what the hell are you talking about? He was pissed off, are you trying to say he wasn't? Granted he didn't sound terribly upset in other interviews, he's still being immature about it.

son?

Seemed to me to be dry sarcasm too.

He's clearly a pretty angry guy in general, but it works, and he's perfectly typecast for those parts.

Maybe my sarcasm meters broken, but I don't give a shit either way. I think the opening post overreacted to a possible non-overreaction.

He's still Max Payne, so all's good. Except the fact he's still Max Payne.

He wasn't pissed off he just didn't find it funny. For that matter, neither did I. I thought it was a shit impression that didn't make any sense. He said he enjoyed Samberg's work but didn't find that particular skit funny--mainly because it wasn't.

And on the Kimmel show he was joking around. He wasn't pissed at all.

I can't believe how many sarcasm meters are broken in this thread. Did you all import them from Hong Kong?

Seriously, he was saying all that shit in jest to blow up the impression that was done.

Completely this.

The whole point of the skit was for it not to make any sense. As far as the impression, find a better one...if I didn't know it was supposed to be Mark Wahlberg before seeing it, I sure as hell did after.

I looked through as many news sites as I could to see what the general consensus was about the Kimmel interview, and the majority are saying he slammed SNL and wan not happy. So if he was joking he did a bad job at conveying that.

Mark Wahlberg has his panties in a bunch over a Saturday Night Live sketch from last week called "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals." It features Andy Samberg playing Mark as he introduces himself to barnyard animals. Unfortunately, Marky Mark hated it so much that not only does he never want to host SNL, but he wishes Joe Piscopo was still on it. Whoa! Jesus. Let's not say things we can't take back.

After watching the first interview and then the Kimmel one I thought it was perfectly clear that he didn't really care for it.

OR

He was tired of everyone asking what he thought about it and lashed out on the show.

Skit - unfunny, lame.

Reaction - pretty funny (even if it was fake or whatever).

Jesus Christ. Is EVERYBODY'S...oh man. This is an epidemic.

As far as the impression, find a better one.
What.

Don't pull that shit. It was a bad impression; I don't have to find a better one to prove it's bad. You just said yourself you didn't know it was supposed to be Mark Wahlberg!

Get outta here with that.

I swear if I saw you around I'd punch you in your big nose!

Yeah, I don't see the big deal. The reaction on MTV wasn't bad, sure he could have said it was funny but he didn't. The kimmel one was clearly a joke on his part.

No BT, you can't make up a connection on that.

Mark Wahlberg declined invitations to host SNL several times in the past, stating, "I don't think I would make a good host because I haven't watched SNL since the 80's or 90's."

You are saying it like after this happened, now he doesn't want to host SNL anymore. That's not even the case.

He said, "I didn't find it funny. I just wished it was funnier."

Dude he is ****ing around, he might not of liked it, he may even hate it. Hell, he is being mocked. But he obviously isn't being entirely serious. He's not going to beat Adam up about it. Shit. Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

That's not what I said, re-read it for clarification.

I swear if I saw you around I'd punch you in your big nose!

Don't call my nose big, you have no idea the benefit in having large nostrils...stupid small nose maggots.

No, Barney was saying that news posts were saying the same thing. I was also referring to said newsposters.

I was agreeing with Darkside. While offering people with broken sarcasm meters a different point of view.

*Shrugs*

Ah. Well newspapers are never ones to let common sense or acute observation and reasoning come in the way of gossip.

There's genuine discontent and anger in his voice. Sure, it's probably not all in regards to his impersonator, but I'm surprised at how broken your emotion meter is! This type of overreaction works for Wahlberg, hell, it's his career! But he's not at all completely dismissing the event, he's overtly miffed, angry even. There's nothing particularly wrong with his reaction, but it can't be dismissed as purely playful sarcasm - if that's all you see, you're severely lacking in the emotional perceptiveness department.

Who f*cking cares?
I'd be a bit miffed if some idiot did a shitty impersonation of me too.

Like I said in my post, this is just Mark Wahlberg being Mark Wahlberg. He built his career with his attitude and it's not going to change. I was addressing Darkside's presumption that Mark was merely being sarcastic, which clearly isn't the case.

It was dry sarcasm, but it was still rude and snobby.

most people would be honored to have a nationally syndicated television show do an impression of them. Especially one that doesn't insult the person at all.

I would love to have a conversation with Mark Wahlberg.

he's obviously not angry or offended, this sort of stuff happens to lots of stars on talk shows and they all react the same way. They act like they didn't like it, but let everyone know they dont mind it at the same time.

In the MTV interview you can kind of see that he wasn't happy with it, he didn't enjoy it, but he certainly wasn't fuming over it. He didn't think it was a good portrayal of him and he didn't like it. He might be miffed, but not overtly, and he certainly didn't seem angry over it. He wasn't seething in his chair. And it's painfully obvious that the things he said on the Jimmy Kimmel show were in jest.
