Doing something like that is completely out of the question. You lied to many people, asking for their prayers...and they believed you. Thats horrible. You took advantage of this community and the friendly members that are a part of it.


For lying to the community, thehunter will be banned until at least the release of HL2, maybe longer.

And Marty, any attempt to sign up under a different name will extend your ban.

alright it was pretty stupid, but i dont think he should be banned thats a little harsh :|
 
Thats horrible. What in the world would make him do something like this though? I mean, he becomes part of a community, posts all the time, then he just decides to mess with everyone knowing the consequences? Strange.
 
It has been done before, for various reasons...really pathetic this time. Maybe he just has problems and wanted attention...IDK.

Well there is a chance that someone else was using his computer and did that. However its really small and so it probably was him, and for doing something as stupid as that then I think a banning is in order.

Although I personally don't know him that well, I'm sure some do. Anyway, having a friend make me go through that, thinking they were really hrut can cause a lot of sorrow and pain. Especially finding out it was a big lie in an effort to gain attention.

No I'm sorry but I have never felt like doing that. If I'm bored I play games, read a magazine, go out, or I come here.

I didn't believe in it a second, attention whores like this dwell on every forum and take advantage by faking these kinda threads and events..

It's abit sad, Thehunter's been very cool at some occasions but when he does stuff like this I say good riddance to bad rubbish. :|

Yeah, abit sad to be honest. But in these cases they're usually just bored and want to stir things up abit/see what the reactions are, he wants to be loved, simply..

He wants to see if people really like him or not, the thing is in these cases, EVERYONE sends their condolences and are very sad, no matter if they had anything to do with him before the event.

well... what sane mother would log into a game forum under her son's account to inform his internet friends about her son's situation, which was very uncertain at the time of posting. When I read it I couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor attemt of attention seeking.

Yea really a mother wouldnt say that, how dumb/old is this kid? Im guessing hes about 12 and rides the small bus to school, cause noone in their right mind would think they could actually pull something like that off. Not to mention he logged onto IRC shortly after :LOL: what a dumbass.
 
Not the first or last time this'll happen to a community- I recall a SC forum member (who will go unnamed) logging in on April 1st and, as a "joke", informing the populace that he had died in a car accident and that the current thread had been made by a friend. And there was that famous cancer guy with the "dead girlfriend". Wee.

Boredom and stupidity- yeah, they are a pretty dangerous combination.

Next time I get suspicious, I should just barge in instead of chickening out and avoiding the thread just in case its genuine... :dead: Bravo investigative proof-gathering of the Anti-Lamer Guild.
