This cover has turned up at the mass effect 2 website, does this mean if Shephard dies, he becomes like Saren?

Well no you see

In the beginning of the game the Normandy is destroyed and everyone escapes. Well, everyone except Shepard, whose suit is sliced open and as he attempts to put on his helmet he dies of asphyxiation. Much of his body was replaced with cybernetic organs and parts by Cerberus due to his corpse floating around out in space.

I thought he became like that when you're evil enough. Probably when you choose a "bad" option during a quest.

As far as I know choosing the Renegade route just makes the scars fester and look more horrific over time. Probably right about that though cow.

Thats what I heard, the higher your Renegade rating the more scars/cybernetic parts you get where as the higher your Paragon rating the healthier you look.

Which begs the question what happens when you end up with a character like my Shepard from ME1 when I pretty much maxed both meters...

I find this 'appearance changing based on morals' thing in games silly.

So what, you do evil things, how does that make you look evil? You can just keep up your appearance. Why should I have to deal with becoming the Terminator just because I want to kick sand in a little girls face?

Aesthetics should be up to the player. This ticked me off in Fable as well.

I don't like how your apprearance changes because your good or bad, but I prefer if it was down to your characters life changing events; your character bears scars from being tortured or you suffer burns from when you evacuated civilians from a building on fire, or perhaps your tick-off the wrong sort of people and have a finger sliced off. Doesn't necessarily reflect the person you are but builds a story and intrigue around your character.

Does Wrex make an appearance? Other than Tali he was my other favourite NPC

Indeed, one of the things that really put me off playing evil in Fable was the retarded ass horns and associated receeding hairline. Hopefully ME2 will handle it a bit better.

From what I hear Wrex is in, provided you didn't slot him in ME1 of course, leading a group of Krogan trying to overcome the genophage and rebuild thier species.

Wrex is indeed in it. But if you decided to kill him, there will be a new Krogan. Forgot his name, though.

I've been replaying ME with a larger focus on equipment, side missions, and combat and am enjoying it a lot more now.

Grunt, I believe.

He is, as I understand it, the only recruitable Krogan and that Wrex has now "retired" from his previous occupation of being a badass mercenary to start a new career in being a badass Krogan saviour of the species.

How do you guys already know all this information about the game? I just beat the first one yesterday, I really loved it, so I am in high hopes for this one.

There have been a ton of interviews, previews, and trailers for this game. All you have to do is look around a little.

Oh that makes sense then, but I've ruined a lot of movies/games by spoiling stuff about the story just by searching for previews and what not, so I'm probably not going to be checking those out.

I'm afraid from watching the video of Grunt that he may not live upto my standards. Wrex, on one hand, didn't want to see his people wiped out, but on the other hand there were elements of self-loathing towards the Krogans

I've also found a Mass Fortress 2 vid online

When does the mag come out? I'm looking forward to the reviews

Goddammit, there is never a middleground for personalities in games.
