As always, we're looking for a few good men, or, well, anybody with half a brain and a computer for that matter to give us a hand.

We really want, right now:

3d modlers,
skinners.

However, if you think your talents could help us out feel free to fire off an email to me.

[email protected]

The mods website is www.defensecommand.com

Be sure to check out the hero's stories:

Gordon "Ammo" Hendrix

Commissar Rasman

Horus Chang

Or learn about the North West Returner or Prol societies, here, for the NWR, or here for the Prols.

the last guy

the last guy in particular, add a parrot and hes a good pirate.

errr, are those vehicles and weapons just blueprints of already existing weapons & vehicles? Hardly concept art then, is it?

The detail for the characters is very good. Add some shading and they'd look pretty nice.

If they are just stock blueprints from the net but with their mods logo on them, then im not anywhere near as impressed as I was to start with

No, none of these weapons or vehilces actualy exist in real life. I did these bluprints in QuickCAD (the non-pro version of AutoCAD). If you're thinking of the NWR Bike looking like a dirtbike, well, yeah, it is a dirt bike, but armoured. Hence the ribbing in the steel plates.

It is nice to know that they can be mistaken for real vehices and weapons though. Plausability was one of my goals when I created these.

What vehicles did you think these were blueprints of (other than what they were named for D-Comm)?

I'll pass that on to my artists. Thank you.

Let me reiterate: NO!! None of these are stock blueprints with my mods logo pasted on. I created these myself, they are not stock. None of these vehicles or weapons actually exist in real life.

some of em almost look like blueprints
hmm..from the upside down ;)
m1979(?), there another one looking similar above
m113(?)
the small rifle: k43(?)
one of the mgs: mg42, the tank above: panzer pk4
and the first one looks like a mutation of a colt 1911 ;)

My mistake, then. They look very nice! Kudos to your artists.

Nice Art... keep up the good work...

a Simple thought about the bike:

An armored dirtbike where the armor is just protecting the bike doesn`t make much tactical sense bejond letting the enemy get a operational bike after just blowing away the unprotected pilot... I would layout the bike less armored (perhaps you`d armor the fuel tank, more will just slow the bike down). IMHO a bike must be designed for speed and shock resistance and perhaps tire durability but not bullet-proofness, simply because it`s more likely the pilot will get hit if any hit is made at all... and if you armor the bike, i`d add some kind of shell around or a simple shield in front of the bike...

Just a thought though...

PNG or GIF would have been better choices than JPG for compressing these pics. But anyway, I like 'em, very detailed and modeller-friendly.

These are JPG's becaue I have to host them on a site which costs me bandwidth every time somone looks at them.

If I needed to give these to a modler, I woudl just make new images, twice the size in gif format. Its not that difficult.

The bike isn't heavily armoured or protected by a shield of any size because it would limit the rider's range of fire and reduces the bike's maneuverability (don't care if that's spelt wrong) and the Motor Corps is supposed to be fast agile.

And thanx to everyone who's complimented the character designs. The reason the ink drawings aren't shaded is because they're model guides and shading is unnecessary.

To expand on this, the armour is there more to prevent it from being taken out buy shrapnel and flying debreis (which are much easier to stop) rather than bullets.

The riders are also armoured, but more heavaly than thier bikes so if there is a soft spot to the system its not the rider.

Besides, if you had to class this mod in terms of the setting, it would be decidedly Sciene Fiction. IE, not everything has to make perfect sense in the real world.

Of course it doesn't have to make sense in the real world, BUT it surely has to make sense inside your setting. But, judgeing from your answer, you thought the design through, so it's good, I just issued my opinion, if I made you think about WHY you were doing something, i already achieved my goal :)

Actually, they'd probably compress better in PNG or GIF, costing less bandwith. In fact, I just tried compressing that second pic in GIF, and it ended up as 75KB (attached it), instead of 127. No quality loss (as far as I can see anyway). It'd probably work even better using the original, without the 'garbling' JPG tends to do around lines.

But I shouldn't hijack the thread with compression talk:) Feel free to use JPG if you like it better. Good luck with the mod.
