Matrix Online new S C R E E N S H O T S

I would genuinly play this if I had money to spare on monthly payments...in fact there are lots of mmorpgs that I would play if I had the cash. They should just place advertising in the games, in a similar way to how they do it in real life...can't complain really, I mean, its realism! :) Then they wouldn't need to charge players.

Yeah, that would be a lot better, when the beta ends I won't be paying monthly for it. :(

so how is beta, tell me something in game infos, thx

I can just picture a MMORPG character strolling into an exotic forest, the foliage lightly coated with powdery snow, the morning sun beaming down through mamoth tree trunks, glinting off the blade of the player's oversized battle axe which reflects the scene perfectly, birds nestled in the branches, chippering softly as they tend to their young.

Then you pan right and there's a huge billboard for Rogaine.

And then, over the hills, come the dreaded bunny-hoppers! oh no! run!

Totally agree! It would be kinda hard to do this smoothly in a fantasy MMORPG though, but I would rather watch a moderate amount of advertisment then pay a monthly fee.

Hmmm... this game looks as bad I was hoping :D

That would be awesome. I refuse to play MMORPGS for two reasons:
1) They steal my money MORE than other types of games.
2) I'll have to go to a MMORPG Anoynomous club because they are all hopelessly addicting.

But the Matrix Online looks pretty sweet and awesome. Figures that people will say it sucks without really giving a reason, though :p

I like the ad for "The Sentinel." Hah.

ROFL

Post of the month.

I dunno if I'm going to get MxO. It'd be nice since it expands the story and gives you a bit more information but I'm having some problems with the beta and then there is the monthly fee... :S

I got in the beta, but I found it so frustrating and boring that I quit after the tutorial.

Still looks like Anarchy Online w/ some Matrix names.

Not interested in the game. I was at one point tho.

wOOt!, pay to play ?

no!!!! I was planing to get this ;( no0000!!!

Get GuildWars instead Gorgon, no monthly charge, and lots of PvP.

Matrix Online beta was bad. World of Warcraft beta was worse. Where did I end up after the only one I wanted (Dragon Empires)was cancelled? Everquest 2 of course. And it's brilliant.

well.. after playing enter the matrix... I am sure as hell not getting this game... I mean: enter the matrix was one big bug with gameplay and graphics! instead of gameplay, graphics with a few bugs!

besides from what i've seen in E3 video's... the game s****

I am in the beta and i quit after one week. This is simply the worst MMO game i have ever played and yes i have played loads....

Here is what www.ctrlaltdel-online.com said about the game.

The Matrix Online: I'm not even sure if this game is out yet. It didn't just fall off the radar for me, it was thrown off with extreme prejudice, and then buried half-alive in a box full of scorpions. It sucked, let's put it that way. I'd rather play Everquest 2, ok?

Q: Have you played it?
A: They invited me to beta test, apparently as some sort of study in human torture endurance

Q: Do you play it, and what's your character name?
A: Not if you were hanging me from the Brooklyn bridge by my genitals.

Q: How come you don't do [more] comics about it?
A: I did one, and the game just isn't worth my time to do another one.

Ugh... never played it... but those environments look... just bad. Worse than GTA III

You found combat that was more involved and more fast paced than any other MMORPG out there.... boring??!?!

OMG, I have a few things to say to the lot of you.

1. To you people who played beta for 2 minutes and quit, and think it was bad. IT WAS FRICKIN BETA! For one thing, Lith does beta different than other people. They do massive patches. You play the game for a few weeks, submit lots of suggestions and comments on how things are, like you are supposed to do in a beta, and they send out a massive patch to do all that. They do not do small content patches every day like everyone else. The game will literally change overnight. They'll drop 20,000 items in a single patch. 150 skills in a single patch. Completely redo the tutorial and the entire interface... in one patch. You will be playing a whole new upgraded game after one patch. AND IT'S A FRICKIN BETA. It's not supposed to be smooth or fully functioning, that's the whole point.

2. You have moneybags helping an A+ development team that has a popular publisher(hard to come by lately). Add the fact that the more successful desktop video card chipset maker, ATI, is helping out, you have the best MMO team to date. It can't fail.

3. All that is moot if you don't like the matrix. It is heavily themed and considered a continuation of the storyline. If you didn't like the matrix, avoid this game.

4. GUILDWARS IS NOT AN MMO.

5.

Don't trust screenshots. And don't forget one thing: Multiplayer games always have worse graphics than single-player only games, it has always been that way. But MXO does look a LOT better than GTA 3...

Huh?

Anyone in the Guild Wars beta? I'm really curious about it. I'm not asking you to break NDA, I'm just wondering if it's any good.

Was there an NDA? It had an open beta. Its pretty fun actually, but not quite as in depth as other online games. I'm deffinately going to buy it when it comes out. I really enjoyed finding new stuff and upgrading my character. I played as a mesmer necromancer this time round. First time, I was a Warrior Elemental. I reckon I had more fun second time, but I wanted some different spells. The problem with the beta was thateveryone stated at a relatively high level, so you got a little overwhelmed with everything, and it wa sperhaps too easy. Quests were fun, and you could also do pure player verses player or a mixed quest/player verses player.

It's not a Massively Multiplayer Online? That's not even a sentence.

Ha! That's not very charitable of you! Although I'm totally with you :) It really doesn't look particularly great, but who knows maybe they can bring it up to the fabulous standards of Enter the Matrix... <Coughs>

The creators of guild wars don't think of it as a MMORPG but it is clasified that by nearly every magazine and site.
It is a MMORPG.
If you think its like a D2 game then you never even seen it or played it. It is a MMORPG.
It will be a Massively Mulitplayer Online Role Playing Game. Does it has massive amounts of people in 1 game. Yes. It is multiplayer. Yes. It is online? Yes. Is it an RPG. Yes.

It may seem like D2 gameplay(Though radically diffrent in spells overall), but that does not make it how D2 works.

As Pc gamer(US) even says.
Guild Wars:
"Massively Multiplayer Diablo-Style gameplay with no subsription fee."

At the WPE guild wars was insane. Super Fun! One of the funest games I ever played. You can definently see some blizzard in this. I mean it was started and 20% of the people were blizzard\battle.net employs. One of the funest games I ever played, ecspecially for a WPE.
