Matrix Thread (contd)

I could have sworn that Morpheus spoke about being freed by the "one" before Neo. Maybe I was wrong though. I'd have to see it again.

What exactly happened to agent Smith that gave him the ability to replicate himself?

Agent Smiths code was somehow modified after his "death", when he returned he had new abilities and a new more rebelious attitude (part of Neo infused into him). Replcation was one of his new abilities.

morpheus couldnt of been freed by the pervious one qukbeam, because the previous 1 chose the door that lead to the mainframe, and the cycle started over again.

Thats what I though ... So probably the Architect wants Smith destroyed now and that's why he will ask for Neo's help in Revolutions (as seen in the trailer)

EDIT: Also the Architect keeps mentioning how Neo is an anomaly in the programming of the matrix. Does this mean Neo isn't really human.

Morpheous says from memory: "It was he who freed the first of us.." so he doesnt specifically say either way. But he also speaks of a 'century of war' and he is obviously not 100 years old (though some on the council are probably 80 or so..) Revolutions should be awsome for just tying up the loose ends alone.

We dont know yet , thats whats so interesting about Revolutions and the whole series in general. Neos new ability to effect machines in what we though of as the 'real world' has led some to believe that there are 2 'matricies' 2 levels of control. And that Neo is starting to see this and his power is growing further than anyone before him.

By the way, any of you can explain to me, why Neo and his crew want to free people from the Matrix so much? I mean, how would you react, if you were pulled from the world, even if not real, to the desert. Is freedom really worth that much or Morpheus is just ignorant freak, who got obsessed with a crazy idea of finding next Jesus to save the world.

Again this is part of the allure the movie has , and its even asked by charecters in the first movie. Most obviously Cypher cuts a deal to be plugged back into the Matrix. So theres your answer.

To me not being a slave and fighting the oppressors of my entire species would be well worth it. (in theory)

Come on, are you ready to give up your life for fighting the machines, so you can live in the caves after that. Not worth it, because in my opinion, what’s real or not real is not important. I hope Revolutions will touch upon that issue once again.

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. -Theodore Roosevelt

I would rather be a truly free human being than one that lives in a virtual world created by machines where choice and free will are illusions and methods of control, even if reality was as harsh as Zion. Also, don't forget. For having a populaton of 250,000 people and under constant threat of death from the enemy machines, Zion is one impressive city with tons of high-tech machinery. Imagine what the world would be like if the enemy machines were not there and the entire human populace were free to help rebuild humanity. Things would move forward pretty quickly I would guess.

If you think about it in computer terms. He's turned into a virus. He inserts his data into other people and overwrites theirs with his, thus making a copy of himself. He acts just like a computer virus.

As would I gimmie the truth baby... Oh yea and I can't wait until Nov. 5!

And what are you doing right now? A human who lives in a virtual world created by a God where choice and free will are illusions and methods of control. Too much of same… if you don’t have a God, create one.

hmmm, well this world isn't virtual in the sense that it is created in a computer, so I'm not sure I understand what you meant by saying we live in a virtual world. The belief with God (all the ones I've heard) and free will is that God gives man true free will and true choice, not an illusion of it. Although since he is removed from our time and space he knows what we are going to do. He doesn't create a fate for every human being, he merely knows the outcome of all the choices we will make. In the Matrix choice is an illusion and every man has a fate of sorts.

Well, it’s just like that, we don’t really know what God is, so who knows, maybe he uses us for something too. As for being virtual world, how is it different from creating universe itself? In both you can exist, people can live. Yes, you are being used, but it doesn’t really hurt you if you don’t know. In the end, Matrix is just another alternative of living. And God, well, we tried to find out what he wanted one time, by building a tower to the heaven. We all know how it ended. So what’s the difference, tell me?

About that being in the matrix or unplugged in the caves, i'd rather be in the matrix, doesn't look like theres much acess to pron in the ships, but in the matrix theres lots.

I suppose it depends what kind of life you're leading in the Matrix. If I was leading Neo's life in the Matrix...I'd definitely choose the real world. My life on the other hand is generally good...so I'd have a tough time with it..

i could answer all those questions so easily.... but i have to go to school, so maybe i'll do it later

well it's true that God may be lying to us and telling us we have choice and free will although in reality we don't. It's entirely possible. It's also possible that God was telling the truth and we do have free will and choice in our lives. What you're saying could very well be truth, as could what I'm saying. We won't know for sure until we are dead though.

I still hold to my opinion about taking the real reality over the Matrix reality though. If I was told right now that the world I'm living in is actually a computer generated dream world, and I was in reality a slave, I'd want out, and I'd either kill myself or physically escape from it.

I'd choose the real world dude.
And right after i'm freed i'll be playing videogames and DOING pr0n through my shiny new headplug.

Mmm.. Yes.

well if u watch the trailer its obviouse that the machines and humans might allie. ANd if you have heard of the game "MATRIX ONLINE" you know that the matrix will not be destroyed in matrix3. NOt spoilers just speculations from me.

I'd choose the real world, just because I woul;dn't be able to stand it being any other way. I'd take the red pill because I'm the kind of person who throws himself out of a window to see what happens.
1. Do you think there is anybody who remains in the machine power plant but knows all about the matrix and knows it isnt real, but lives in it?
2.Who thinks that they would enjoy reality-bending?

Well Zion isn't as bad as you make it out to be. I mean people there just hang out and go to rave parties and stuff. They don't actually battle the machines most of the time.

If you think about it... doing the whole porno thing through a computer simulation with the woman in red or something.... that'd be nasty. After you finish...you'd spooge in your pants... That's not something I'd be interested in.
