Mature Rating

For those of you who have played this game, out of curiousity, what does the Mature rating translate to in the game? As in, what made it get a Mature rating?

seriously the game has a lot of sleaze, hookers, bad language the lot.

Frankly I'm amazed this game avoided an NC-17 rating.

It's the next rating after "R" for movies. You can see an R rated movie as a kid if you are with your parents, but I think for an NC-17 movie you absolutely have to over 17 or they won't let you in.

Basically a movie that get's rated NC-17 usually has very extreme content.

I don't think games have any rating beyond Mature though. But I think they should. The difference's between some mature games now is huge. Some like CS or HL2 aren't that bad at all while others have lots of gore and violence, yet they get the same rating.

The game doesn't actually have nudity (if you consider naked monsters with butt ugly tits as "hot"). You get to meet hookers, a hell lot of profanity. I think it's a bit overdone, the bad language seems "forced" in VTMB.

This game probably deserved an "Adult" rating, but it seems only blatantly pornographic games ever earn that dubious distinction.

eh, lots of strippers with thongs/gstrings and only like a little red dot thing where the nipple would be. its pretty much nudity.

Neutrino thanks for the explination. Here in the UK we have the following rating system:
U - Universal, suitable for all
PG - Parental Guidance, some scenes may be upsetting, scary etc
12 - Suitable for people aged 12 yrs or older (a bit pointless imo, there's not much difference between PG and 12, but some films that get a 12 rating should have got a 15 rating imo, it's all about the moneh)
15 - Suitable for ppl aged 15 and over
18 - Suitable for ppl aged 18 and over

Regarding a rating because of nudity - why does anyone bother to rate nudity at all? Come on, walking in summer at a beach here in europe, you will see much more nudity then shown in any game...
The only thing i agree with is a rating for violence, but on the other hand, it is not really a doom iii clone.

LSL8 got banned in Australia, as well as Manhunt, Postal etcetera. Funnily enough LSL8 should of been banned for being crap and absolutely ruining the Larry legacy, not because of the laughable scenarios/models.

VTMB surpisingly got only a MA15+ our highest rating anything more is a BAN. Our censors don't beleive that people over 18 play games so won't make an R18+ classification for games.
