Max Payne 2 And Half-Life 2 Endings Similar?

If anyone has played Max Payne 2 you'll know at the end you have to shoot supports away that are keeping the baddy on the top of the tower thingy. He then falls to his death.

It reminds me of Half-Life 2, any thoughts?

I suppose Breen is more cowardly than MP2's boss but it's the same concept.
Shoot the supports away while dodging other threats like Gunships (in HL2) or Molotovs (In MP2).

Well despite the fact that breen isn't a hell-bent-on-revenge russian with an arsenal of molotov cocktails and an AK-47, i suppose their pretty similar.

It was slightly similar, then again most games have ending battles like that, you have to use your brains to defeat the evil last boss instead of just blasting away at him

For instance, in the end of Jedi Knight 2, you could use the lightsaber to destroy some supporting rock thingies which, when Desann stood in the right place, caused even bigger rock thingies to fall down and crush him.

The end of JK2 sucked. I just kept putting on force speed and sliced up Desann little by little. SUCKED.

Also, the whole fighting beside Alyx thing is definitley reminiscient of fighting beside Mona in Max Payne 2. The upcoming Alyx expansion, where you get to play as her, will also seem very MP2.


Mona in the high-rise is one of my favorite levels, ever.

I see no reason why not to make an expansion. Wouldnt take too long. Voice recording could probably be done in a week or two. Not sure on mapping, as I have not personally created a mapped with Hammer, but I have animation experence so I'm assuming mapping would be too bad. Overall wouldnt be that time consuming in my opinion.

Alyx is hotter. Both are a little gritty (ourside girls ), but Alyx looks better IMO. (And I'm not basing it off of model quality).

Mona Sax had a far deeper character that reminds me of Trinity from the Matrix. she was dangerous, deadly, complicated, and very very charming. she would make u fall in love with her every day. if i was to choose between the two i would definitely choose Mona!
