May i know what type of DirectX will HL2 requires to run?

For all the guys that played HL2 can u guys plz tell me what type of directx will it requires to run?Is it DirectX 9.0b or 9.0c?Coz mine is juz 9.0b

Coz i cant install directx 9.0c when my pc installs it it installs pretty fast like 1 sec.After that saying that my pc installed directx9.0c but then when i go to dxdiag there is no 9.0c just 9.0b.Is it because of my windows?I am currently using WINDOWS XP PRO SP 2 BETA.ANY COMMENTS PLZ!THX

Wrong. The game requires dx9 installed. You can have dx7 compatible hardware though.
