I forgot about the Vito Chambers. So Ryan is still alive somewhere in Rapture. That scene is going to be etched into my memory forever. The revelation of the "would you kindly" deal, the realization that you've been had, and the whole time you're killing him, going "No, STOP! What are you doing?! STOP!"

Funny how literally minutes earlier, I had told a friend (who has also played the game) that I Was at the point where I was about to go into Ryan's office to "Bury my wrench in his cranium" (exact quote)

Ryan is dead, apparently there is a vita chamber in his office which Ryan deliberately shut down before meeting Jack. It does make sense Ryan was a very "all or nothing" kinda guy he probably found the notion of living after Fontaine had defeated him as a fate worse than death.

Just finished it. ****, it was awesome. Story was excellent but I didn't like the endings but that's minor. Excellent game.

I can confirm that the Vita-Chamber in Ryan's office is turned off when you arrive. You can activitate it yourself after you've killed him.
