OK, over the past few days I've been reading stuff about Blue Shift, and that makes me really want to play it.

I can't find the disk.

What I'm leading up to is: why don't they put Blue Shift on Steam? To tell you the truth I would much rather play beautiful, fun Blue Shift than old, boring Opposing Force.

I know most of you will say copywright and such but, wasn't Blue Shift made by Gearbox too?

I don't know why I'm posting this. I just want Blue Shift back. Yes, I am willing to pay for it again.

Grr.

Thanks.

After rigorous searching, I found my Blue Shift disk. Installing now. Yay.

;)

Thank you, I feel *so* proud.

Unfortunately, my disk doesn't work, and I would rather buy a new one than send in for disk replacement. Do you think they still sell Blue Shift at local stores?

-Kato

Maybe, but you could probably get it off eBay for a few dollars. But you'd have to make sure the key number hadn't been registered

Man, if I have to wait that long I can send for Sierra's disk replacement.

If at all possible: I...WANT...IT...NOW!!

lol.

download it off a p2p thingy.

although it may not be moral or legal..........

NOTE: If you do and the police come, THIS post is NOT responsible for your actions.

I really dont understand people that say that BS has better graphics. They are the same, if not worse, compared to HL1.

I think it is legal to download the game as long as you have a legit CD key. It'd be legal because its for backup purposes.

(I think, don't take my word for it)

Well the high-def pack sucks ass because it makes Barney look gay (read he looks like a damn china doll). How can updated graphics make a character look less realistic?
But I do like Blue Shift's settings better, they seem more realistic and necessary than all those wastes of space in Half-life. (no offense, they were obviously trying to make a big game, not just a little expansion pack like gearbox) but what was the point of those big mixers mixing radioactive waste in the waste processing plant? And those big things dipping huge platforms into the same radioctive waste? Apart from providing good places to jump from one end of the room to the other for rouge scientists, what were they for?

Kazaa, KLR, and Kazaa Lite all hate me today and will not start. Limewire could not find it.

The high-def pack rocks.

Yeah...*quietly backs out of thread*

I've heard people say that it isnt worth buying since it wont last long compared to the other HL titles. I hope they are wrong cause im planning to buy this too.

I wasn't quite an experience to me. I think I went through it in 2 days. It's a bit shorter than Half Life 2, I think. The High Definition pack is cool and gives courage to go through the other Half Lifes again. I havent tried Opposing Force multiplayer which comes with it, though.

no, it is very short but very good and contains some nice plot for the hl universe.

My limewire found it, and it was basic. I just typed in blue shift and in a couple of seconds it was there. it was only 124.3 mb. On my computer it took less than two hours to download it.

why would u want blue shift that badly i beat it in 2 hours it was ok dont get me wrong , i loved the music best music ever in any half life game but blue shift had the worst ending and the worst last part: no boss battle wtf. ok ok i know it was ok and opend up a few i deas but other wise it wasnt the most exciting game or fun.

What games are in the "Platinum-Pack"? It says that a Blue Shift key will unlock this and I was wondering if I would get anything that I don't already have. Either way I am planning on getting it, my goal is to collect all of the games!

Eh? I just went to Wal-Mart earlier and they had HalfLife, Team Fortress Classic, Counter Strike, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift all-in-one pack... i think it was called the platinum pack and it only costed about $30-$40

Its far better than Opposing force IMHO. Why? It doesn't contain Race friggin X.

Its short, yet fun with enjoyable gameplay. The Final chapters are great, especially when looking for the power cell.

I think that BS is the worst HL game of the 4.

I also saw it at Wal-Mart for that price. Just wondering, is it worth the money? Also I played Blue Shift after I downloaded it. It was laggy (probably because I downloaded it off Limewire). For me it wasn't fun at all. I played only because I wanted to know more of the Half-Life storyline.

Well I love Blue Shift. Playing as Barney is lots of fun. For realism, I recommend playing through the whole thing with only the shotgun and the 9mm, security guard style!

its was meh, so short, plus the ending was way too easy. I did enjoy seeing the grunts dragginf Freeman.

everytime u pirate something god pisses on the RIAA.
no, everytime u pirate something the RIAA sues another 90 year old women(Dead or Alive).

Hardly matters considering that it isnt a Steam game.

If you pirate any software, the President can designate u an economic terrorist, and your computer freezes, and the FBI, CIA, National Guard and Men In Black (even Wil Smith) breaks down your front door, and you spend the rest of your days in Camp X-Ray in Guantanomo Bay while fat ugly female marines make human pyramids with you and take photographs with them on top while smoking a cigar. Its true. Happened to a neighbour's wife's cousin's lawn mower repair man. Although, you did not hear it from me........

It's not pirating it if you own it, plain and simple. I own Blue Shift. I have the disc. I'm looking at it. It just won't run. Therefore, downloading it is not illegal.

BTW I found one on Limewire--it's downloading.

Wow--this has stirred up a lot of discussion. Thanks!

I think it's kinda sad that Blue Sift couldn't "fit" in valve's family.. If u know what i mean. Blue Sift is forgotten, tough Barney is in HL2 but still.. It was only

*****SPOILER*****

HL game that really had happy ending

****end of spoiler******

I did like it, and i liked Opposing Force too.

Well actually, Blue Shift is part of the official HL universe. Particularly Barney's trip to Xen contained things they didn't get around to in HL according to Marc Laidlaw. Opfor I don't know how much they count, Race X was obviously skipped in HL2 but I spose BMRF is still nuked and hopefully Shephard will never be seen again.

I like the idea where Barney is just one guy, not all the security guards fused together in hl2.. I think gearbox made an effect on the making of hl2 with blue-shift.

Yeah--in Blue Shift, everyone calls you Calhoun. That's why I don't think they're all the Barneys fused, but just...Barney Calhoun, security guard and Overwatch Civil Protection. :)

It downloaded. I played it a little earlier. Unfortunately the one I downloaded has no High-Def pack and looks like shite. The high-def pack installer, which I'm pretty sure would work if given the chance, couldn't find Blue Shift. Grr.

Then why does he owe you a beer?

Or remark "just like old times, eh, Gordon?"... which I think is him remarking about fighting alongside Gordon in HL1.

even so its kindof stupid thinking all the barneys, including the dead ones with their guts splattered everywhere are fused together in hl2. Erm maybe he just automaticly revives and teleports like the gman! not.. I think when he says just like old times he recalls the times at the very end and start of blue shift where he sees gordon. Also he hears alot about gordon by dr. rossenburg or whoever. I thought blue shift was a very well made game, even though it was too short.. (2nd best of the 4)

Hey gordon, remember the good ole' times like when I saw you on the tram, and then watched you on the security cameras, and then when I was hiding in that storage closet and you were dragged away by those marines, remember that? Ahh... good times...

Let's just say they met before BS/HL and leave it at that why don't we?
