So my knee has a habbit of feeling really stiff after i've been riding around a lot. Went to a doc to get it checked out, and all he really did was poke at it for a few seconds, tell me "feels like there's fluid in there, might be a miniscus tear but I have no clue. Get an MRI", and send me on my way.

I started stretching before riding a few weeks before I went to the doc, and it really did help with the stiffness a lot, leading me to think it's ITBS or something, since my legs are uneven by over a centimeter, but the doc seems to think otherwise. Then again, i'm not even shitting you when I say he pretty much poked my knee once and just said "get an MRI".

That was like a week ago, and I still haven't gotten around to scheduling that MRI. Every time i've called they've been closed.

So, wtf is a meniscus, how does it tear, and what does this mean for me? I have a hard time believing anything in there is "torn", because it hasn't kept me off of my bike at all for the month or so it's been bugging me. Shit doesn't ever really "hurt", it just feels "stiff".

Meniscus is located in your knee and requires surgery to repair which could keep you for around a 3-4 weeks + depending on the severity. I know this because a kid who plays football injured his.
