Paris isn't a stunning beauty but she's pretty. And she's really sweet, I've never ever heard her say a bad word about anyone, she's even kind and gracious to paparazzi. She may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but personally I find many intelligent people very annoying and not very nice as human beings. I'll take a little bit less IQ and much more good personality than a smart asshole. I don't see why people feel the need to mock celebrities who they don't even know personally. What's the use? Really? Actually I think she must be secretly quite clever, seeing that she hasn't really done much yet she's got all this business going on all of a sudden.

more importantly what has she done to earn respect? I dont give it out just because someone's a celebrity ..in fact the opposite is true. Respect is earned not given away freely
 
Intelligence is difficult to define... I think people who are thoughtful and nice and socially intelligent are intelligent IMO, even if they seem goofy with things like mentioned above.
 
Everyone deserves respect just by being alive. By being a human being. I may hate some people but it doesn't mean I don't have respect for them. You may dislike someone but it shouldn't mean you have to disrespect them. It certainly doesn't make one more intelligent or respectable if one feels that they should disrespect someone because they are different.

Moreover, she can't help being born rich. If you're grown up like that, it's difficult to be something else. And why shouldn't she make use of it if she's got it all`?

You don't need to find her admirable, just have enough respect to withhold any overt contempt. Nobody deserves that. Being open about your sexlife doesn't make anyone morally inferior. I just don't see anything that bad about her that would make me dislike her. So she's vain, so she has sex and tapes it and the wrld can see it, so she isn't einstein... doesn't make her a bad person. That's all I care about. :p

I didn't see the last part, sorry. Well I'm not saying that you should respect her more than someone else because she's famous. I didn't think about that at all, I'm just sick of it that people diss famous people just because they can and it's easy to criticise a celebrity even if you don't know them personally. And it's just too easy to see her bad traits when she's in the spotlight. I don't see why celebrities should be the most intelligent people or most anything just because they're famous, and if they're not, why should they deserve less respect? THey're only human . :)

I mock plenty of non-celebrities for stupid things. Celebrities are just easier targets because most of us know them. If someone I know did something extremly stupid I might post a thread on it.
 
Sure, but you'd still have respect for him/her wouldn't you? I just don't see the use of actively disrespecting someone less-endowed-with-mental-capacity. :p For me, it's enough that she's nice, or seems to be, because in my world that makes a person intelligent. She has respect for other people, I can't help respecting that. :P

I'm not her press agent, I just wanted to counterweight all this hate that to me seems ungrounded.

yes but why would I pity them if that's the life they've chosen? ..when one of them dies it's like a holy figure has died ..yet hundreds of thousands of people die of preventable things like disease and war every day yet it gets little to no attention because people would rather know what designer label Paris is wearing rather than the reality that children around the world are dying because they dont have enough to eat ..it's just utterly sickening to think that people like Paris exist alongside that boy whose picture I linked to
 
Hmm...well...that's life. People aren't born equal that way. You can criticise her for not giving money to charity, sharing her wealth, for example... but there are many people who don't do that even if they're rich. But Paris gets so much blame because her persona attracts attention.

And she couldn't choose to be born rich, or being spoiled... or being intelligent. It's not like she does it out of spite. I think she's just out of touch with real life... she's more ignorant than stupid.
