I'm getting this game for Christmas, and I was wondering if it wraps up the whole metal gear solid story. Don't spoil anything, just a simple yes or no.

I'm asking this because it seems like the MGS series has SO MANY loose ends that a sequel would have a hard time tying them all up, but with a prequel, it would be damn near impossible.

Yes ... and No. It tells how the patriots got togeather, but it doesn't tell you how they died and survived for 100 years, or what happened to Olga's baby either ...

i cant wait for this game either, kojima said that mgs4 is in very pre-production stages, hes trying to get a team together to work on it,this 'supposedly' will continue on from im assuming:spoiler

the end of mgs2,of course i havent played mgs3 but its pretty obvious its big boss by now,mgs4 will be out in 2006 kojima says so maybe we'll see some code at next years e3,maybe it'll be on ps3

They connect nicely to MGS1 at the end with a few little hints and a little timeline that scrolls by connecting Big Boss to the "Les Enfant Terrible" project.

The story doesn't take nearly as many twists and turns as MGS2...but it still is the quality you expect from an MGS game.

Of course at the end after the credits roll...there is a little conversation that you should listen to. Just like the other MGS's it brings up a revelation that could only be answered in another MGS :) Thank god there are gonna be more of these games. I can't get enough of them :p

I've already beaten MGS3 twice. Second time through I followed a guide to get all 64 little green frogs so I could get stealth camo :) I also beat all the bosses by taking them down stamina-wise. Fun times.
