Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes released.

Its next on my list after Battlefield, so once the money comes around you can bet I'll pick it up.

do u 2 have GCs then? yay, im not alone!!!
i will definately get it, but when is another matter. I *may* get it the day it comes out, if not just when i have the money, or if i cba.

Yep, I have a GC.

Look at this screen...

I think it's cool how they basically put MGS2 game mechanics into the first...but one of the first things I noticed is the graphics. They aren't as good as MGS2. If I had a GC I probably wouldn't buy it. I think the control scheme wouldn't suit me. I could just not get used to the Xbox controls for Substance when I rented it...and I doubt I'd get used to the GC's. It just works so perfectly on PS1&2 Controllers.

GameCube's =S

Nintendo must be paying for exclusivity or something because the fact remains a lot more people (more importantly MGS fans) own PS2's, so it would make far more sense (money wise) to develop it on the PS2.

Would love to get it, but I don't posess a GameCube. Should hopefully eventually be released on Xbox, though.

I think the reason it's on Gamecube is that Shigeru Miyamoto works for Nintendo, basically. Hideo Kojima respects him and wanted to work with him, so that's why.
I think, it's just my theory..

It's too bad I've played the first metal gear so damn many times.. :( Twin Snakes looks sweet, and it sucks to know what's going to happen every second (especially in a new game)...

I was considering getting it right away, but since I just got Metal Gear Solid 2 a month or so ago, I'm not really in the mood to play another Metal Gear game. I think I'll wait for Snake Eater or for the price to drop, whichever comes first.

one of the reasons kanomi are doing this is to give GC owners a taste of the action. i mean PS2 owners are more likely to have owned a PS and therefore have played it, but the people who grew up on the N64 havent had this privellage. Plus i think the origonal MGS series started on the ninteno snes (im not too sure) so its returning to its nintendo home. Either way, its trying to sell kanomis prduct to as many as possible.
Its a fairly low budget way to make a GC game well, get an old game, give it a simple port then crank the graphics up a lot. And seeing as the origonal was so damn good, i reckon theyre on solid foundations.

Actually, every review I've seen has mentioned that the graphics are at least as good as MGS2. Maybe you're looking at the wrong screenshots and vids or something.

I'd love to get the game, but I'm broke.. :|
I want to get SC: Ghost more than this, MGS has never been my thing.

Wasn't a MGS game released on the PC? I want it really badly, but no one sells it any longer...

I've flipped through about 100 of the screenshots at IGN and watched a couple videos...models just aren't as crisp as they are in MGS2... the textures aren't all that great either.

I bet it's still a blast to play. I've just played those 2 games too much recently. I just beat MGS1 3 times and MGS2 3 times in the last few months.

maybe its just becuase the vids are from old E3s b4 the game was finished. I mean, they might just be generally bad but with the GCs extra power i cant see why they dont makle use of it.

I didn't really judge much on the vids though. The one's I saw were kinda small and hard to really pick out details from. By no means am I saying the graphics are bad...they just aren't quite as good as MGS2 for PS2.

Well let me you tell you, I followed this game like it was my religion, and I can tell you what it's like.

I got it on monday because a freind of mine works at gamestop and took a couple when the shipment came in.

Anyways, the graphics are wonderful... just as good if not better than MGS2... but there is some slowdown, especially when there is alot of people. Anyways, that doesnt present a huge problem.

It's not just a simple port. The cut scenes are completely re-written, which is good and bad.

It takes away from the story a bit to have snake in so john woo, matrix like over dramatized thing every cutscene... and some of the voiceovers are different and not as good (Naomi Hunter sounds to lifeless and uncaring) but at the same time, all you can think is "Holy shit! he just cut the ****ing bullet in half!" or, even though it sounds so stupid, "He just back-kicked the ceiling at him!" (Again, sounds really dumb, f'n amazing to watch).

As far as the control layouts, it flows much better than xbox... you get used to them quick, however, with the game level design pretty much un-touched... you don't even need the copied control scheme from MGS2. If you want to use them, play it on extreme with no radar.

The game feels like its missing something... but I would still give it a 9/10 and any fan of the series will want to atleast try it.

There you go... an opinion of the game from someone you might kinda know... even though I rarely post.
