Well, after having a few hours with it....I must say it's a great game. I enjoy the single player more than Halo 2's. I highly recommend it to anyone here. I was a little worried before I had a chance to play, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Great graphically, great soundtrack. The game is awesome.

Give it a try if you have a GC.

I never played the first one. :( Is it worth picking it up before the sequel?

Definately, MP is a great game.

(a wonderfully chilled experience - and one for the explorers amoungst us :) ... but not the adrenaline junkies)

In terms of gfx, gameplay and music, the sequal is more of the same ..... which is all good :)

There's zero drop in quality. IMO it's on par with the first. Others may differ.

MP is my favorite FPS of all time, so I may be being biased. But if you're a fan of the first, I say you'll love this one as well.

I haven't played much MP2 - but find it to be a very similar experience. (slightly darker and grittier this time tho)

If you loved the original you'll love this.

I forgot to add this too. Thus far the story differs from the usual Metroid formula. This may or may not disappoint some, but I thought it's worth noting.

Like I said, I'm only a few hours in, so the story is obviously still developing, but it definitly feels different. Metroid, but different.

Ok, good thing because I liked MP very much. Thanks. :)

I loved the first game but kinda stopped playing it towards the end. I had to do a load of back tracking to collect a last couple of artifacts... and then I lost my memory card. Please tell me MP2 doesn't have that same wind waker style needless padding.

Thus far I haven't seen any thing like the artifacts so I wouldn't be worried about it. Metroid Prime 2 is the greatest game released on GameCube this year. I highly recommend it over Halo 2.

Man....its next on my list, but I'll be damned if I'm going to get to it anytime soon. :D
I suppose thats good in a way, always have something to look foward to.

No rush man.

I would wait until you have time to play the game through thoroughly to get the full Metroid experience. :E

Played it round a friends house. The multiplayer is good when you first play it for about 10 mins, then it gets boring and rubbish. Especially when someone gets in the turret on one of the maps. Single player looks ok..but I didnt really see enough of it. All I saw was the incredibly bad graphics when Samus's ship was in the thunderstorm and I saw the zombie type people.

I'm not sure if I'll get it... it looks very similiar to MP, and I'm already sick of that. I've finished MP almost three times.

I don't think I'd describe the graphics as incredibly bad. I think thats a bit harsh.

Remember it's a console and not the most powerful one at that. I for one didn't buy MP2 for the multiplayer nor for the best graphics. Metroid games are all about experience and exploration. Love it or hate it.

Its wierd. I dont like Metroid Prime at all, but I love Super Metroid. :hmph:

i cant wait to buy this... atm i have exams and no money, but soon its christmas.... MUHAHHAHAH!!!1

Wind Waker, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero and F-Zero have outstanding graphics, and they're GC games.

No way in hell would I ever call Metroids graphic's bad. Get 5 minutes of play time with it and it'll dispel any thoughts of that nature.

The most impressive graphical feature of Metroid is wall detail. The walls in the Chozo Ruins are full of cracks, holes and other imperfections. I don't know how they did them, maybe they were generated somehow. It would take a lot of effort to do them by hand.

Looks like a good game, to bad i dont have any consoles :/

I'll get it when I have money... but there a couple of games higher in the list.

I didn't mean that the GC put out bad graphics, but he was clearly comparing it to something probobly PC based. I think MP2 has great graphics as do a lot of GC games, but he was commenting on one part, which I agree doesn't look very good.

Still a fantastic game thus far. I think I'm nearing the end.
