Microsoft Habu glitchy?

I've had this MS Habu mouse, and I haven't used it in forever because of the fact that it's insanely glitchy. My Razer Diamondback was perfect. If I were to move the mouse extremely slowly drawing a line, it would be precise, or if I were to just move the mouse slowly to be precise to click on something, it would jump around and not click it.

I don't know what causes this. I've had the drivers installed on my computer on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. I would like this mouse to work because it's incredibly nice, but I don't know if there is a fix or anything for it. That's why I am here.

I'll upload a picture to show you what I mean.

As you can see in the picture below, when I try to make a circle, it goes insane and glitches out. The line in the bottom right, I moved my hand as slow as possible, and it was insane and glitched THE **** out. For the other lines on the screen, that's when I was moving my mouse rather fast or just to move it. They create somewhat straight lines.

Anyway, I hope we can figure this out! I'd love to use this mouse instead of my Diamondback from.. 2004.. I think it was.

Try a different mouse surface first. It can make a huge difference for some mice.

Also, you did install the drivers right?

Yes. I've installed the drivers correctly. I've tried several different mouse surfaces. I've had the mouse for almost 4-5 months, and it's always done this which leads me to believe it's a firmware problem or something of the sort.

Update the firmware. Sounds like you have an older one since you said it's been sitting, so surely they have an update for it. Probably at 3 revisions by now.

Just make sure the power doesn't go out while it's updating.
(takes about 40 seconds)

I've checked, and it has the very latest firmware. The thing with Razer is after about 6-8 months after initial release, they stop updating the firmware/software for their products and leave you with whatever bugs you have regardless. Now, I've read I can install a Copperhead's firmware on it, but it will not let me AT all or I'm doing it INCREDIBLY wrong.

The image is finally showing up for me.

I think you have a driver problem. That's what my mouse did before I installed the drivers.

Might need driver cleaner before reinstalling. Just uninstalling my Razer mouse (using add/remove programs) didn't work for me. I had to run REVO uninstaller before it would installing it again.

I've got the Deathadder. Actually, I just got it back. I sent mine back because the scroll wheel was malfunctioning. Unfortunately, I need to pick it up from my brothers house, so I haven't tried it yet.

Clean lens and mouse surface, and also make sure it has good batteries in it.

Doesn't use batteries, I've tried it on several surfaces even a brand new mouse pad, lens is spotless.

Just wondering: why didn't you return it when you first got it? Isn't that an expensive mouse?

For me, it's not really about the money, but the fact that they sold you something that doesn't work. They ripped you off. And you still have to buy [another] mouse.

I'm a bit of a Microsoft fan I guess. Windows user here, but in my opinion, the quality control on their hardware is dreadful. That goes for Razer as well. I guess it has to do with them trying to rush to the market first.

The thing is when I purchased it, I didn't notice the problem at first as I didn't use it often and kept switching between my Diamondback and the Habu. Plus, I got it on sale at a real low price if I recall which is originally why I got it.

But anyway, I wish the mouse worked because the form factor is just perfect.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Habu is shaped nearly exactly like the Razer Deathadder, but it has some different features, more geared towards general PC use instead of gaming.

Maybe someone from HL2.net will purchase it from me so I can buy a new mouse. My Diamondback is starting to look.. Unhealthy..
