Wouldn't Bungie be on there? Or are they considered part of Microsoft?

In the article, they mentioned Bungie, I just listed a few and highlighted the ones I cared about.

Well nobody around here really seems to care about Bungie anyway. :P
But MS knows that without Bungie, they're screwed.

Thats a nice list. A bunch of high quality developers.

I think Bungie is a great developer. I can't wait to see what they'll be able to pull off with the new hardware.

I care, and I agree, respectively.

Sounds like a pretty good lineup. One thing you can count on, though, is that I'm pretty much boycotting Electronic Arts, unless they release a game that actually deserves to be paid for i.e. Battlefield 1942-esque.

Who cares, almost all those make xbox games already.

Webzen is an interesting one considering they make MMORPGs. They're in a lawsuit with Nintendo since their newest one (Wiki) looks exactly like Wind Waker.

i think bungie are shit developers. in fact any bunch of guys that would release a FPS in 2004 with copypaste levels should be publicly hanged.

I bolded the publishers I'm really looking at! Of course, anybody who knows me, knows that I think Activision > all (meh I guess I could tell why later)

I actually wonder why you aren't waiting for Activision :P They have such great games! Doom 3, Quake IV, Tony Hawks Underground, Call of Duty, Spiderman, etc

Such amazing games IMHO :)

*edit* Why are EA so "Ew"? I mean no offense, but you just are probably going with the crowd of EA haters... The overtime work happens in ALL game companies, ask anyone. It's just that the programmers there just actually filed suit, most don't bother because it's not so much the money that matters, but the passion of just making games with money as a bonus... Then there's the issue of them buying up the licenses... Did you know that EA wasn't even the only ones looking at the license? I believe Take-Two interactive was also looking, along with most other major sports companies... NFL was asking people to buy the license to get money, so if EA wouldn't have bought it, somebody else would have and then you wouldn't have your Madden, and then people would be pissed... Then they bought the AFL because it was just a smart move, it's different style of gameplay and EA knew that the other companies who lost the bet would again go for this license too...

Plus, they make great games, there's no doubt about that...

That would be wonderful, actually.

Sorry, I'm just of the opinion that EA makes terrible games, and ends up having to buy out the good developers to make a profit, or at least a good game.

And YOU. Trizzm. I bet you absolutely loved Doom 3.

Actually I hate Doom3, got maybe 1/2 3/4 way through the game and then quit because it was repetitive... But it's a good license to have, and the technology behind the game was good... And that first 1/4 maybe of the game was really fun. But I don't love Activision because of that game. It's because I do work for them.

Tell me, if there would be no more Madden, which game would you prefer?

I would prefer NFL Fever TBH :) I haven't played any recent Madden games, my last one I played was on the PS1, and then I never really bought more..

EA has fun games, the battlefield games, command & conquer, the lord of the rings game was okay I guess, medal of honor, nba street, etc etc

EA's business practices do suck it seems to a lot of people... But you gotta look beyond the words on the page, and just realize that EA is an agressive company (perhaps overly aggressive?)... They are simply out there to make games, not necessarily make friends with other companies while those companies get the licenses...

Buying developers is a good startegy... EA is simply the publisher, if they buy the developer they can have more control over what they do, especially if the game company has only made like one or two games, they NEED that direction by a large and well-known publisher... Look at all the independent studios, a lot of them don't make it for years like the ones backed by publishers do, simply because maybe they have one good game, and then what? Then the company either makes a mediocre expansion pack, buys a license and fumbles, or then tries again for a new IP and fails... It isn't easy being on your own if you don't have the experience!

I do respect your right of opinion, and I do agree with you on some points, but you gotta look at this thing without taking in your prior opinions, and then realize what they are doing... They are simply the first ones doing it, and because they are protrayed as big and powerful, people mock that... If a little guy would have grabbed the NFL license for example, and then they released a shitty game, how would you act? I would be pissed as hell that they screwed it up... Now with Madden having licenses for ESPN, NFL, etc and they have the experience needed and the fan base (take a look at the number of sales that Madden gets compared to others), they hopefully won't screw it up... Since there is only one developer working on it, it should mean that they will be able to work more directly with all the corporations, and increase the quality and realism...

I have my opinions, you have yours :) I just approach things more subjectively

So wait? I have Battlefield: Vietnam, Sim City 4, C&C Red Alert 2, Generals and Timesplitters Future Perfect

All of these are technically EA. But they are good.

EA are basically buying out every good company they can find, to hide the fact that they suck ass, and have to rely on good companies to make good games for them
